I still support Poch, but he has to learn from his mistakes. In particular, he needs to ditch the heavy training sessions. He needs to include more breaks for the players. And he needs to develop an alternative style of play as a Plan B.
If he is willing to learn, then he can be very successful. But if he isn't then I think Spurs will finish outside the top 4 this season, with no trophies, and a knackered, unhappy squad.

Someone (can't recall who & too lazy to check back through the match thread) said something the other night about the size of the pitch at Wembley that got me thinking. The new WHL is going to be the same size- so presumably Poch/we will have to adapt. I don't know how much extra ground we would be likely to cover over the course of a match, or a season but it's likely to quite a lot. If we are looking knackered after 14 games & running out of steam/ideas if we aren't cruising by 65 minutes or so, then something is going to have to change. Whether it's the training regime, or having a tried & trusted plan B I don't know. But it's surely got to be a consideration moving forward.

Before we move in , we should have plenty of time to practice on a bigger pitch?
Yes. But playing our pressing style for 90 minutes every week (sometimes 3x a week) on a far larger surface will take its toll. I don't think our players can get any fitter than they already are. So I was just wondering whether with the current harsh training regime, coupled with no plan other than "press, press & press again" will be sustainable (or successful) on a larger pitch when players are physically exhausted.

Don't forget we have a passing game as well. When we have the ball, the opposition will have to run around on the 'big pitch'.

And where has the evidence of that been for the past half a dozen games?
When we dominate possession with our fluent passing game (almost every game this year, I think) why aren't we burying teams? If the opposition have to run around on the 'big pitch' perhaps they are doing it more effectively & cancelling out any advantage we have with our pressing. At present we do look like a one trick pony of a team. Nullify our pressing with conservation of energy & smart counter attacking, & we look bereft of ideas. I'm sure it's a confidence thing, but the lack of a plan B continues to worry me.

was only a few weeks ago that we were pointing at the chavs and laughing.
Its a poor run of form, nothing else. we havnt become a shite team overnight, and we know that we have a manger that is far above the "half decent team being managed by a cunt " scenario that we had with Ramos. Couple of injuries to key players hasnt helped, but c'est la vie

Poch was talking about developing another style of play at the start of last season, but it hasn't materialised.
The result is we are becoming predictable and sides are learning how to play against us. Kane brings genuine creativity/unpredictableness, and that's why we are so much more dangerous with him in the side. Today, Tottenham could get a real thumping as they look very low on confidence whilst the scum are resurgent.

Bit like how Poch surprised wenger today..... hardly fucking predictable were we...... but you are right about the Kane bit! So happy he is back!

Oh, angry Fatty is here... thread over.

Just finding it funny how people were saying we have become predictable.....
And also predicting we were going to get a right thumping today......
seems these same people have now crawled back into the woodwork......
Well most of them......
:pochlol:

We did alright? Well considering the majority on here were predicting thumpings and that we were gonna get smashed 5-0 etc an away draw against a very in form gooner side is a pretty good result!
Any how regardless We got a point and it was nice to see us playing some good football and I'm looking forward to playing the spammers at the lane in a few weeks time.
Although I'm sure those that haven't crawled back into the woodwork just yet would have been happy for us to get smashed today as it would have given them 2 weeks to start more shitty cuntish threads questioning Pochs position........
maybe if we got rid of him quick we could see What big Sam is up to?
Behave yersel, son. This thread crushed the anti-Poch chat on here. There's no ambiguity now.

No,no,no, feck sake no! We have staked 5 years from him he committed,ok if things had carried on from last season, the usual Poch is goin here, there and everywhere would have started but unfortunately it's gone the other way and we are having a hard time,so what! He is still the best option young, wants to do well and do well with us! We have good players they proved that,Kane and Toby out haven't helped but unbeaten in the league and to date 3 pts off the the top, bare in mind that's with out playing well and not scoring goals, yes I'll admit sissoko at the moment looks a bad move but on a whole he has done very little wrong and his position shouldn't be questioned.

Poch is a genius at improving and developing young players into superstars. How else did our limited and youngest ever premier league squad over achieve so much last season?. However he's not so handy, or even comfortable managing proven established big name players. Which you need a few of if your gonna consistently challenge at the top. And we all know that Levy doesn't like spending money on those players. He prefers us to grow and develop our own. The cheap option. It's in his dna and will never change. So there's no need to worry about Poch getting sacked. Barring a relegation scare, it just won't happen

All based on a shoestring budget compared to all our other 'competitors'. Even Leicester fucking City spend more than us.
This is fucking disgusting. .
What's really disgusting is this final point you make. Being out spent by the likes of Leicester fucking city

What the fuck is this poll about? Fucking toxic fans. Fuck you all. It's this poison that caused the toxicity when AVB was appointed. Yes he ended up being shit but some fuckers had their daggers out before he even started.
So what you are saying is that without the doubters we'd have been stuck with a fucking dreadful manager for even longer?

Sissoko was an exception. A last minute panic buy after Levy checked out this forum at the 11th hour on deadline day and saw the unrest growing amongst the peasants.

Is this like how he spent £500m on a stadium, just to prove you wrong?

It's not a spending league, you don't get points for simply spending money. Man U would be good if that was the case. It's about identifying players who would fit the club. Fucking hell John, we spent £30m on Sissoko, and he's beyond terrible.

He never said you did get points for spending money!!
