I have to say I think it’s far easier to win now the CL drop outs don’t enter. I think it will be dominated by English winners going forward

Agree with the rest
Completely agree with regard to the CL failures being parachuted into the EL. That totally devalued the competition in my opinion, and I'm pretty sure there wasn't even a CL place for the winners to start with. It wouldn't surprise me if some kind of rule change is implemented after this final, which just happens to involve Spurs.
It wouldn't be the first time.
F@ck 'em all!

Solanke might play deeper in this with Richarliason up front, Johnson and Sonny on the wings.

Not sure that fits, feels like a square pegs round holes as it gives our midfield 2 a huge amount to cover. If Bergvall is fit then:

Vicario
Porro Romero VDV Udogie
Bentancur Bissouma Bergvall
Johnson Solanke Son

If we are missing Bergvall and want to play Richy and Solanke then I wish we would play a formation that suits:

Vicario
Romero Danso VDV
Porro Bentancur Bissouma Sarr Udogie
Richarlison Solanke

There is no way that Ange won’t start Sonny and Johnson. They are guaranteed starters. The only position that is up for grabs is the more advanced midfield one. I have a funny feeling Odobert might start there. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Bergvall makes it.

I think that is harsh on Richy

I think Son will start on the bench
I think he should start on the bench as he's done nothing all season. Johnson is always good for a far post tap--in opportunity, a place that few of our other players seem to avoid. When he's not playing, the ball goes harmlessly across the face of the goal, if we get the crosses in.

Richy looks lively and a handful when he plays so I'd like to see him start too.

We CAN win this, but history is against us, and beating UTD 4 times in one season, also has the odds stacked.

I want us to win it for us, not lose it because of Ange - that idiot is gone anyway, and who cares whatever glory he takes from it, he's useless.

I know it's asking a lot, but I hope we can be winning, well, within the first hour, because if we have to use many of the bench, it's going to dilute our team quite a bit.

I'm more worried about us than United. Time and time again we have failed to show up for finals. I hope this time is different.

I hate the pundits saying history will be on United's side but I do think our mentality holds us back and may be the difference between the two sides. You know that United will be a much better side than during the 3 times we beat them this season.

The pressure will be much greater this time. Come on Spurs , please fucking show up and do us proud

Reading the stories about the Palace fans at the match hit home :angehug:

Needless to say I'm hoping real hard we get across the line on Wed, and I can only imagine what the fans who are there will feel. If Sonny lifts that trophy, it's going to take a long while for us to gather ourselves!

For those not going to Bilbao, and have Sky Q (and maybe Sky glass), you can watch the game live on Discovery+ . You will need to subscribe to discovery+ first, then you will be able to watch online or via an app. Looks like it won't be on a Sky tv channel. Assuming you dont have TNT sports of course.

I think the above is correct and when I go online to Discovery+, look at next weeks events it is saying the final is "FREE".

I never thought I’d be pushing for Richarlison to start in a final, but the more I think about it (and fuck I haven’t stopped thinking about this game this weekend) I think 4-4-2 is the right option.

Your options are

Sarr: Carrying an injury, has been pretty poor this season IMO, not all that creative
Odobert: Has barely played there, I just also haven’t been convinced
Sonny: Probably the player that’s most likely to have a big impact with Maddison and Deki out, is playing him out of position going to help that?
Tel: Another one that’s not really played there, tends to go out of games a bit
Richy: Solanke can do the dropping off with his work rate, leave Richy to get into Maguire. One thing I will say is I feel with how on edge he plays he’s a red card risk in a big game, IMO

My only fear is our middle two being completely outnumbered if they go for that box midfield with the two 10’s and the holding mids, leaving our full backs with the awkward situation of either coming inside and leaving their wing backs to bomb on or our midfield to get overrun
