Match We can be heroes part two Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester united UEFA Cup final. Bilbao 21st May

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

On the plane, only three hours sleep, so will hopefully have a doze on the plane.
This is a 50:50 game, will depend on who turns up on the night.
So nervous it hurts, so much hinges on this game it worries me that we won't turn up or everything goes against us.

Good grief, sorry for being a pessimist but that's what supporting this Club has reduced me to.
coffee and several brandies in the nearest cafe would be my suggestion

I can't even think straight any more. Psychologically I am trying to prepare myself for the worst outcome. My Mrs and kids have decided they want to watch the game on TV....
Anyone know a cross-roads demon?

Safe travels for everyone going.

Coincidence....? We think not!

Console yourself with the knowledge that you will eat a hundred times better in Bilbao!

Definitely.

I have been to Madrid, Menorca, Seville and Barcelona in the last few months. Not a bad meal had and certainly no runny avocado or cold eggs. The weather has been less kind.

And I read there might be rain to welcome you, but hopefully the sun shines tomorrow evening, and whatever you eat is washed down with the sangria of joy.

For my money the Basque Country has the best food of anywhere in Spain, even at a fairly basic/economic level they take it to a whole new level.

Yes, I have a friend who is from Barcelona. Her husband from San Sebastian..A friend of theirs has a husband who is a very accomplished chef so I am told.

I have not been but the food in the Basque region is rated the best in Spain.

If nothing else, Mrs P can expect to be well fed, but I suspect on this one occasion, a bad meal and victory wouldn't be the worst

I am in the office for another few hours before heading to Gatwick , time is going so slowly . Might need to leave way too early just to soak up some atmosphere at Gatwick . Trouble is it is the nearest airport for the Man United fan base so will probably be swarming with them .

Buzzing for this now.

Regardless of all the shit that has gone on this is Spurs in a cup final and I can never take that for granted.

With our back 5 plus Biss/Bentancur producing their EL form we have a much better base than United. They also have a powderpuff attack.

I do worry about us going forward without a 10 and the dubious Son/Johnson wide combination.

But at the end of the day we have the better players and we've beaten them 3 times this year. We will never have a better chance of winning a European trophy.

Go out there and do it boys.

Safe travels everyone whos going - I hope you all have a great trip with the right result!

I am not nervous in the slightest I have to say. I can't quite put my finger on it but because we have been so bad this season its taken expectation and the weekly pain away from me with the 20 plus defeats and replaced that with numbness and apathy so I feel like this is a huge bonus and opportunity against an awful Man Utd team. They will be thinking the same of course but if we go and be professional our back 4 and Biss / Bent can give us the base to win this game.
I think we are going to do it.
Let us have something to cling on to please.

A lot of my family and friends up north are giving it the biggun. Big clubs turn up for big games etc.
I loathe those red fuckers beyond what is rational.
But I grew up surrounded by these cunts before they were good, whilst they were good & now “how they’re going to be good again”.
When it comes to football they’re not family or friends. Just cunts.
I’ve got almost a grand in bets with various family members. Not that I’m confident we will win, but bets with that lot are too much to resist.i may need to start a go fund me if the wheel falls off on Wednesday Or sell an organ.
I’m confident.
They’re confident we will bottle it.
I hate family at times & need to be careful with my friend choice.

If anyone is going to bottle it then it will be those smug Manc cunts so you’re money is safe mate but another tip has been given for the horse 🐎 thread!
