To be honest, what gets me more is when a player younger than me retires.
Or seeing a player retire I remember breaking through as a fresh faced 21 year old.

Peter Crouch is the latest one for me...I remember him in our bloody youth team...
My Father always used to say that when he was young he would wake up with a pain or ache but by the evening it had disappeared.....when he was older and awoke with a new ailment he would simply 'add it to the list'. I never truly understood what he meant, until now....and my list keeps growing.
I remember one of my mates was trying to lose a bit of weight and get fit, I asked him one day how it was going but before he could reply another one of my mates shouted “he bought a new tracksuit to go out running but he got out of breath zipping it up”....Once I used to play two games of rugby in one day ...home, bath, huge tea and off to the pub. Now I get cramp cleaning my teeth.
Thought i'd try some press ups. Got in position, next thing i knew was waking up 20 minutes later.

Well for me most significant was the 05/06 season when a bunch of first team players turned up younger than me.
Huddlestone, Lennon, Routledge - some other youngsters.
Definitely didn't feel weird. Was so hyped to see Huddlestone pinging balls around, and Lennon bombing past players. Bit of a renaissance for Spurs then really.

Not so much younger but I remember feeling slightly bemused when I realised that Brad Friedel was the same age as me!
As mentioned above it is when you see a player break through, have a career and retire and still be younger than you.
