Soldado for obvious reasons.

But also Eric Dier, he’s still good, but I thought he’d kick on and be a worldie. Still time I suppose...

Rebrov was truly spectacular at Kiev alongside Schevchencko. Really felt like the dawning of a new era at Spurs when he signed. Such a shame he never hit the heights.

For me Ilie Dumitrescu should have been so much better.
Gets my vote too.

Honorable mention from same time period: Popescu. I remember a rainy Tuesday in Stevenage (I used to occasionally go watch our reserves there) when he was returning from injury and therefore in aforementioned reserves, and the guy barely even tried. He was wearing our shirt whether it was our first team or not and it was shameful to watch.

Bobby Soldier.

Although it wasnt his fault we bought a penalty box striker who thrived on low crosses to then play with inverted wingers and never cross it.

Don't know if he's been mentioned yet, but Aurier would be up there for me. When he signed I thought for once we had actually replaced one of our big departing players with a like for like, top class replacement.

How horrifically wrong I was. :walker:

I don’t get the thread......out of all the players who flopped, I wanted and hoped for them all to do well.

I didn’t want Soldado to do well more than I wanted Janssen or Paulinho to do well

couple for the oldies
as mentioned Rebrov, felt" the man in the raincoat" was the problem seemed to always play Rebrov out wide should have been in the middle
Alfie Conn, so good in Scotland yet never showed up here
Chris Mcgarth was so promising went to Man U and that was it
My first visit to the lane was 30th April 1977 and the biggest disappointment was that there was no Alfie conn - he had long been dropped from the first team I believe for disciplinary reasons rather on field performances - still got to see a young Glenn hoddle score a banger so turned out ok!!
