Player Wilson Odobert

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's a talent and might come good but it's still almost all potential - his actual output since joining is minimal. He's been shafted with 2 long term injuries which hasn't helped, but I think we should've gone bigger on a proven first team winger given it was clear Son was ageing out. Especially given we'd already bought 2 other teenagers that window.

Getting Tel on top of him was even more ridiculous and one of the many reasons we're in this mess. Far too much pressure to rely on kids in key positions who aren't ready yet.

Id take a look at the scorers and assisters this season in the Prem.

Wide players across the board are not getting the 'output' right now in general.

This is not a coincidence..... the Prem is a different beast at the moment - you the best wide players in the league with a low output.

Odobert has been with us during two very difficult seasons, recovering from multiple injuries and unable to get into a proper rhythm.

He is a talented footballer, for me. No doubt.

I agree, I think he should be loaned out in Jan next year and we need to sign a proper winger if we stay up. But I guess it all depends on squad planning with 1 game a week is the plan (if they look good again)

Solanke/new CF
Simons/tel Maddison/Moore Kudus/Kulu

I think if Maddison gets back to his best he could look very good with Simons and Kudus, play some lovely intricate football. I wouldnt be surprised to see Tel moved up CF and we go big on a top winger (if we stay up) with Richie sold.

Think well need a GK as Vicario is going (trafford?), LB (udogie has to be sold, Souza loaned out) I think we are getting robertson but we need a top ready to go LB who can provided real width, go for Robinson? Id imagine Romero is going, and rumours of VDV, we are getting Senesi in so Would it be Senesi and Danso? Likely need another CB. Can see Porro maybe going so likely need a RB, I think Sarr will go so well be left with Gray, Bergvall, Bentacur and Gallagher.

Likely need a fair few signings... but theyll be a fair few outs as well so hopefully good money to spend. In an ideal world wed properly upgrade cm with a wharton type signing but I think benta and gray will form a top partnership next year.

Yeah its interesting, only 3 wide players with 10 goals or more.

Even assists - not a whole bunch of wide players in on the action, and even the ones who are very very few.

Its frustrating hearing people talk about our players and our lack of output from wide players etc when many clearly dont watch much football other than Spurs and lack the ability to apply context as to why other than 'they are shit'

Missed him? He’s been here 2 years and done absolutely fuck all. What exactly have we missed? If this guy was playing we’d be even closer to relegation than we already are.
I was his biggest critic for most of the season, but he was showing signs of becoming a threat going forward before he got injured.
Another very young player that needed some proper man to man coaching.

You kind of forget the guys like this who haven't played in so long. Odobert might eventually develop into something, but will he ever be a finisher? I just don't see much goal scoring threat.
Sometimes a player like him doesn't need to score 10-15 goals, they can effective at just occupying defenders.
People underestimate the effect Traore would have when his opposing fullback could never attack.
It's why we have missed Kudus so badly. Teams have no real concern defensively when playing us, so can push further up and take more risks.

Yeah I think the issue is the average football fan (likely I am very much included albeit I watch a lot of football outside of us) knows actually very little about football, and watches barely any football outside of their own teams games, its why people either really overate their own players or really underrate their own players.

Its clear as day how much out players were being hampered by truly awful systems and managers and how 'dogshit and truly awful' all our players nd squad is and all of sudden under de zerbi we outplay brighton and you start to realise wow maybe they arent awful after all.

Ive banged the drum on bentacur for years (not that im some football guru) as I can see how good he actually and how hampered he was under frank by that awful horseshoe system he played but according to everyone hes dogshit he cant pass blah blah but you get him under a good manager and its obvious the quality he has and how important he is.

It was one game of football and I definitely wouldn’t say we “outplayed” them, it was an extremely even match, at our gafffe. The game before that we were turd against Sunderland.

I believe in De Zerbi and that we can stay up but a lot of our team is very poor.

74 Caps for Uruguay. He can't be dogshit...

I completely agree with you that we should have got a senior LW to replace Son but thats the club making shit decisions as usual and not Odoberts fault.

Odobert has ability and his numbers back this up.

I think the last 10 games or so we started to see that he was turning potential into performance.
What team are you watching?! Odobert wouldn’t make the bench at any major club in Europe

The game is in big trouble......the supply line of talented players in every position is drying up. Not just a UK issue but it applies to every country in Europe and the world

Guy needs a bit of time and space to grow into the league. Bale and Sonny took time. They’re two of our stand out creative / attacking players of recent times. He looks promising. Finger pointing should be elsewhere.

V.young player with 2 massive injuries in 2 years.......

Conclusion..... He's shit. :wall:
The amount of gash spouted on this forum is mad.
Every player is shit and will always be shit, according to many of the brains on here.

Probably many of the same brains who have been calling for Moore and LWB to be playing, even though they'd be the first to shit on them too when they don't score a hat-trick in their first full game.

This guy shouldn't be in our first team plans next season unless in the Championship.

Not been anything above 7/10 when available and optimises why we are so shit.

Loan him and if he performs well elsewhere, sure consider him for 27/28 season.

What we did with Kyle Walker is the model I would prefer to see.
