One thing I've wondered when I see some people say Levy thinks this is a write off season is.. why would he think that? To him, we spent 100m in the summer and there have been some hiccups but overall we're 2 points from 4th right now. We're right in there and in a good of a position as we were this time last year were we not? We've taken 13 points from 15 in our last 5 games so I think it's definitely game on.. and we know Levy always gets involved in transfers and all of that (even when AVB was here) so I wouldn't be surprised if we do see some changes

Levy surely didn't write the season off and as you say, we are still in a good position to get fourth. We also haven't hit top form yet. On the other hand, i highly doubt that Levy will open his checkbook this transfer window, really can't see that happening. He will probably want us to get fourth with our current players.

Levy hasn't opened his checkbook in January for a while mate haha

It'd be a bit unfair as he has spend some £££s in this window in the past, I think not big spends recently due to Harry's style of transfers
"I'll never say never to a fantastically triffic bargain, Sandra"

Here's a history from the "bigger" fees (£3m or £4m was a decent fee a while back!)

Jermain Defoe (Portsmouth) January 2009 £15,000,000
Wilson Palacios (Wigan Athletic) January 2009 £12,000,000
Alan Hutton (Glasgow Rangers) January 2008 £9,000,000
Jonathan Woodgate (Middlesbrough) January 2008 £8,000,000
Andy Reid & Michael Dawson (Nottingham Forest) January 2005 £8,000,000
Jermain Defoe (West Ham United) February 2004 £7,000,000
Pascal Chimbonda (Sunderland) January 2009 £3,000,000
Chris Gunter (Cardiff City) January 2008 £3,000,000

:vdvcry: some of the prices we've paid for players, I'm surprised Levy is allowed a chequebook!

That means we're buying Defoe, right?

I think I could name any other player in the squad that might be capable of that and run through them all, before I got to Lewis Holtby!

Just can't see it m'self... or were you being hypothetical?

Hypothetical really, just saying we don't know what is going on behind closed doors, so more saying if this was the case, is it best we get rid? My view is yes IF that's the case before I get wrapped fir suggesting it

What goes through an itks mind when there's no transfer news to post..

Don't be silly, this is clearly a cryptic ITK.

Now to decipher it.....

Did he "spend" that money or "re-spend" after selling Carrick, Berbatov, etc...
