It is not as simple as 10million sold, why haven't we spent 10 million! Use your head son.[/quote]
If it is the Bale money then its spent! 100million of players out, 100million in.

probably 150k wages out yet 300-400k in + agent fees, signing on fees and all that.

It is not as simple as 10million sold, why haven't we spent 10 million! Use your head son.

You could factor in the 40 million tv windfall. You could factor in the fact we have the 6th biggest turnover in British football. You could also take into account we have a multi billionaire holding the purse strings in the Bahamas, and the fact we have a couple of positions that we all agree need strengthening if we`re serious about competing for the top 4.

Thats the first time I`ve been called son in a while anyway. Should make my Great Grandchildren laugh when they read it.

Fair enough, its just that I don't really remember the personal attacks, or OTT criticism for previous managers so early, or even in the latter stages too. Maybe except for AVB.
I think the difference between this man and previous managers is that others came from elsewhere with experience and success. He has neither. So for me this is different. He has to convince me he's right for the job, whereas with others I could look at what they had done elsewhere and hope that they would replicate it with us.

Having said that, I wasn't impressed by AVB's appointment either. I only thought Harry should've gone if we were getting an upgrade and I thought AVb was very much a lateral move. I just didn't make up any avatars because, well, he didn't look like a Weasel.

Might surprise you to know that not that many years ago I had a shirt with Sherwood's name on the back. But he gives it large in his interviews and I just don't think he has much to show for it. If he justifies the big talk then I'll be very happy. But that doesn't mean we can't question things he says or does. I've done that with every manager since Mullet Francis.

But then why choose the manager of the club you love as the butt of a random and unfunny joke?

Can I just say that this is an often mentioned fallacy. Lewis is the major investor in Tavistock Group, which has a portfolio of over 200 companies, of which ENIC is only one. In turn ENIC is majority shareholder of THFC, not outright owner.

This idea that there is some direct money funnel from Lewis to Levy for players is simply untrue. Levy is tasked with running ENIC as a business, which is what he does, and the investment in ENIC will only represent a slice of Tavistock's financial resources.

With regards to this, we are not a toy to him say like City or Chelsea. We are part of his business there to make money. Which we do, and we do well. No doubt we should have added 1/2 players. But I wouldn't have been against older / loan players.

We spent big on 2 players and they have been shit (so far). Money talks, but it doesn't guarantee. Unless you are city they you buy everyone and are mint.

Anyone know if Pitroipa went to stoke in the end, good player obviously a little below our level but if stoke got him then that's a decent signing?

There's one on there which confuses me:

His name was Levy, he wore a wallet
He was escorted to his chair, he saw Kopo playing there
and when he finished, he called his agent
But Levy went a bit too far and Ian Harleyed across the bar
and then the punches flew, wage structures smashed in two
there was blood, and a single Pen came out
But just Who signed Who?

All for Kopo, Kopo-plyanka
the trickiest winger north of Havana
Runnin and passin are always in fashion with the Kopo...

Now he sits there so refined
and drinks himself half blind
He lost his Bale he lost his Kopo
and now hes lost his mind
At the Kopo, Kopo-plyan-ka

They make it sound like Levy was fucking delighted to sell Bale for the amount he did :levylol:

£80+ million for a Bale that was once surplus to requirements... I'm willing to bet Joe Lewis is absolutely chuffed with Levy as a manager of an investment.

Additionally, I can only imagine the media/agents used spurs as "interested" into goading liverpool into paying over the odds, transfer and wages. IF it goes through, anyway.

They make themselves so easy to hate, for a club with the history they have, they don't have love being 4th in the table courtesy only of Suarez. By all means, if our fans were half as happy as theirs would be with our team then we'll all have a box of tissues out and a tug every time we logged on here.
