Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Was as good as anyone today
I don't think so. He wasn't having any impact. I'm not entirely blaming him because even the best attacking midfielder won't be impactful if nobody is getting the ball to them. We still haven't shown any ability to hit the opposition on the counter. If you get Simons moving in open space he's got the skill to make things happen. Kind of sad that the one time we exploited Bournemouth on the move was with one of our center backs driving through their defense. Simons will be fine, but we have to get some help in this window, and not 19 year old help.

Thought he was fine. Not great as he didn't influence the game enough and had a couple of sloppy giveaways but had some decent touches and drove us forward at times.

You can tell he'd look much better if he had better players around him and a coherent attacking system. Playing for second balls obviously isn't his game - he thrives off link-up play around the box.

I think they were looking at one of those crap AI generated videos like in the wet spam game and it looked good

i can get porro and richy liking romeros post, theyve been here years. whats simons doing liking it? bit embarrassing for him to like it, been here 3 minutes and hes one of the players they've tried to present as the solution...

He was ace against England for Dutch. He bullied Rice off ball for his goal. He scored a great recovery solo effort from our half (after losing ball). He’s got assist this week. Give him time.
He was thrown into the League wayyyy too quickly as the first act of desperation by TF, but I do feel like a lot of people have completely forgotten how terrible and lost Son looked in his first season.

I think its clear he needs players to play off of, and is far to often on his own or just really deep where he is ineffective

In that Bournemouth team, in that position behind Evanilson, with Kroupi and Semenyo, support from Scott - I think he would look a lot better.

Look at Tels goal, theres a runner and an opportunty to link - and he finds a lovely backheel to get the ball to him...

I dont know if he'll ever live up to the hype, or be a top prem player, but I do feel like we just havent had a real chance to see the best of him yet.

I quite like his desire to play forward as much as he can.

Bit lightweight but he has heart.

4 G/A's in his last 5 games

And who didn't like his back heel, i mean come on its been ages since we've had this sort of imagination.

I say let the boy serve up and hopefully eat his dinner
