Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He’s been a disaster so far. The PL is hard to adjust to for imports at the moment and there is no shame in finding it hard. Referees are letting defenders plough through creative players and waving play on. It’s one of the reasons that the football had become so prosaic all through the league.

I still expect him to be able to make basic 5 or 10 yard passes though. He looks like he’s shitting himself every time he gets the ball.

One could argue that the source started way before that, we were bumbling about with the ball and Spence' only option was to play it inside to Pal, all our other players were marked, he chose the wrong option but that doesn't mean he was a direct cause of the goal.

Anyway coaches don't analyse football like that, they don't blame individuals unless it's blatant, what could we have done better leading up to it, even in the play before it.

I'd even have a look at the manager at this one, when Sarr was carrying the ball out looking for an option, why isn't Xavi instructed to go forward and play with his back to goal as opposed to running into space?

Little details like this are preventable and it's something that needs to be looked at by the coaching team.

It's decision making in certain situations and those are things coaches are always looking to improve.

He's not going to blame him, he's going to help him improve decision making.

Taking risks? Are you serious...that's not risk taking...it's stupidity. He was surrounded by three players, just get rid of it

Their high press was killing us at that point. There's a time to play though a press and there's a time to get rid.

It's down to simple decision making. Spence knew he as culpable, partially at least, judging by his reaction at the end
Clearly you read minds because we have zero idea what happened at the end. I can live with errors even bad judgement when they happened where his did. Unfortunately that second phase you need to be more risk adverse. Its 80% on Mickey and frankly even that's not a big deal in side creating chances Romero made way more clangers than either Spence or VDV last term. The issue with this team is further forward, so the witch hunts is foolish.

The guy doesn't get fouled, jumps to the floor looking for soft ones. He's hardly getting ploughed through like.

I just don't understand him, as you say, when you can't even do the basics, there's something fundamentaly wrong. I really didn't want him, seen lots of him, complete moments player. He's a big name because he's been insta famous since he was like 7. He's not exactly been superb for his career either. It was a blind panic.

He’s 22 years old. There’s a reason PSG were desperate to get him off the books. Why else would they want rid of a player that young? They knew what we all know now.

Sad but true. I posted here when we signed Xavi that I'd have preferred MGW. But I thought Xavi would be a lot better than this.

I should have created this thread before we signed him. When I didn't see anything special in his highlight videos, I threatened that I would create one to make this deal collapse. At the time, I was hoping cheats would get him since they were linked with him. We all know they are smarter and better at knowing that they want. I should have known better.

So, in part, I admit this part on me for this disaster of an acquisition.

Yeah that's a crazy read. The second phase of play is what kills us. Poor pass followed by bad decision making. If you prevent players not playing with the ball or taking risks we really will become a truly ugly team. Its all handled by a simple swing of VDV boot.
Xavi put no meat on that pass. Also, he knows Micky is left footed (and fast), so play the ball with pace towards the touchline, not centrally...you shit yourself, there's a lot less danger with the ball out on the wing. May as well have just passed it straight to Caicedo.

Ps: you fuck up, I wanna see you bust a gust to make up for it, run for your frigging life, try everything to catch Caicedo. Instead he just stopped and abandoned his teammates, like we've seen Udogie & Brennan do on many an occasion.

Zero excuse.

Sad Baby GIF
You sick and disgusting scumbag.

Why do you want other posters to go out an abuse women?

I would have just whacked and hoofed it up the pitch.

Which VdV, could and should have done.

VdV had time to collect the ball, try and shield it, but hoofing it was far to difficult and didn't have enough time, he had a good few seconds to whack it.
