I remember discussing Xavi Simons with you during Ange times and you saying he’s a “little fucking baller” and a pit bull or something similar. Definitely waxing lyrical and saying he’s the level of player this club never actually signs,

From all that time watching admiring, 4 months in an anti-football system in the toughest league in the world has changed your mind?

Liverpool fans should have changed their mind on Wirtz as well?

I think the opposite mate. Thats the point I’m making. And even with more time to adapt, I think he could work out under Frank as long as the Danish Inquisitor changes his system a bit to allow some football to be played.
 
He is not looking great right now , but Frank not getting a tune out of anyone . Even established experienced prem proven players are struggling . I am hoping Frank turns it around but it I doubt it , so have to hope the new guy is capable improving individual players and improving the collective.

I think it will be Poch next season , I hope it will be Poch next season . He is the itch many of us need to scratch

I'm not saying bin the kid. There's at least 4 or 5 other names I'd shift before him...heck, maybe even 10 or 12.

For sure Frank's murderball ain't helping Xavi perform, and the kid's still shown glimpses of what he can do, plus I like how he goes into tackles for a CAM...bar that stupid challenge on the ugly shemale.

But yeah, I was still expecting a lot better based on what he showed in the Bundesliga and Eredivisie, where he was unreal. I thought the transition would be a lot smoother considering his talent.

Anyway, let's hope he finds a way soon enough cause we bloody need that magic the kid has in his boots. Maybe TF will finally grow a pair and Vinnie will prove he ain't a Gooner agent or Levy regen by signing us some real quality to surround Xavi with.

I think this is part of the problem. We have players like Simons, Bergvall, Gray who are young and like the ball but we try to play without the ball. It’s not a good chemistry of players vs tactics right now.
 
I never really was that keen in the summer, I wanted Eze (who I think would be great as our main man, not the lost soul under lego head). However, he needs to be knocking the ball about the pitch with like minded technical footballers. We hardly have any of those in the side.

Cherki was the one I wanted but not to be. Even with him you still have to give him the ball and give him options. If you want a do it yourself Bale type player very few of them.

Agree, Cherki would probably be struggling even more than Xavi in this team because he’s less athletic and willing to work without the ball.

Not sure Xavi would be doing as much magic in that City team though. Xavi has magic in his boots but Cherki is probably the best player in the world right now with the ball at his feet.

I think doue more so big one we missed before psg became interested probaly the closest to a ronaldinho in terms of being fun to watch

what? You two are mental if you think he's deserving of criticism for that. Was literally the only one capable of anything resembling a threat, outside of a set piece. The club is fucked, but he's the only offensive player I'd play every game because he can actually play football. But sure, criticise him too, prime nonsense
