Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think its clear he needs players to play off of, and is far to often on his own or just really deep where he is ineffective

In that Bournemouth team, in that position behind Evanilson, with Kroupi and Semenyo, support from Scott - I think he would look a lot better.

Look at Tels goal, theres a runner and an opportunty to link - and he finds a lovely backheel to get the ball to him...

I dont know if he'll ever live up to the hype, or be a top prem player, but I do feel like we just havent had a real chance to see the best of him yet.

Suspect he’s going to naturally gravitate towards Tel on that left hand side now

Tbh I’d be tempted to be more 4-3-3 with Palinha sitting and Simons with Gray as the 2 8’s. Nobody else is fit and that gets the most out of Simons and Gray

I can't find any vision of the apparent not given red card from the Everton game last night.

It's been pulled as a rights violation from socials. Yet other vision of the given red cards is avaibale.

PGMOL embarrassed about the SImons double standards?

I think more a 532 - especially if Frank is sticking around

Tel and Richy up front, Xavi behind them. Palinha and Gray as a solid pair, 3 cbs and two fbs offering some width.

The word on him was that he was a luxury player— looks good in a dominating team that’s purring along but disappears in a dogfight and very inconsistent. Almost every Prem match is a dogfight and Tottenham, of all teams, can’t afford luxury players. He appears to be Maddison on steroids in terms of that ‘luxury’ player.
Will give him the season to see if there’s any further adjustment, but my expectations are low

LIght weight first half, but then everyone was.

Second half, loved it. Got stuck in. Did some nice dribbles.

Night and day.

We need to see a lot more though, the question is what else does he have in his locker. He hints at being the real deal. But its just hints right now.

Xavi looked awesome today.

Unpopular opinion: Frank should get a lot of credit for taking him from what we saw at the beginning of the season to what we’re seeing now.
