Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Loved him last night, he was everywhere and considering he was playing with an injury, did really well.
He's got the potential to be a real star and at least tries something different, just needs to build up a relationship with those around him and a coach that can develop him to the top of his game.

One game needs to be 5 games, 10 games.

The marker is Eriksen - a performer all the fcuking time pretty much, until the end of his time with us. Maestro.

Let's talk about Simons when he has multiple good games in succession.

Yes, that is the level.. But the Eriksen that you're judging Xavi Simons against is the Eriksen that had been in English football for a couple years at that point and by that time had a excellent coach with real stability around the place..

Eriksen in his first year in England, had a poor team and potential instability in the dugout to deal with just like Xavi Simons.. And I'd say that if you compare Xavi Simons to the Eriksen we were seeing at that point.. The level and consistency wouldn't be too dissimilair,

I'm not judging Simons on that level you talk of.

I am saying that should be the marker, and one game, nice to see, needs to be followed by more regular displays of competence.

It is one of the most infuriating and nonsensical aspects of human beings/posters that one day a player is a waste of money and the next a really good player etc...

Nothing in life is about once in a while as opposed to consistency of performance, to warrant widespread praise and recognition. That's how society over praises and unduly criticises.

That's why Frank winning yesterday means nada because of the games before and will mean even less if we lose on Saturday.

People's memories are pretty cloudy when it comes to certain players. None of the players that we signed to replace Bale looked like effective signings in their first season, and our entire attack didn't take shape until Harry fully came through and established himself as our starting striker.

Same with Son. He looked hopeless in his first season and people were really saying some shockingly insensitive or even racist things about him, until he finally clicked with Kane.

So, we can’t talk about him at all until then?

Could you at least specify how many games is “multiple” ? Because this thread could get a bit dry and nobody will know when we’re allowed to come back in

I just write in a particular style. On Saturday for example if he plays and we lose Simons will be pilloried.

My point is context and lavishing one day and lashing the next is pathetic.

Like the fact that he was playing with a smile on his face and was really enjoying himself and geeing up the crowd, a creative player like that needs that sort of personality.

Really want him to make it to the top as a player with us and think he can for sure - needs time, better players around him and a possession based attacking coach.
Think Poch, Xavi, Alonso anyone like that would love to have him in their team tbh with the right players behind him.

Very silly of him to post this. If you can help it, never let your opponents know where you're hurting. Now giving the opposition a reason to give him an extra kick or stomp.

Yeah I don't think anyone is going to purposely aim for the back of his heel, that's not how football works, you can't just aim for an area when you go into tackle someone, the game is played way too fast for that :D
