And here we are again, another transitional season, a brand new manger, whoops; I mean head coach, 3 below par performances, media slander and a lot of booing. Thus the nature of the fickle fan is revealed.

Now don’t get me wrong, I too am not happy with a lot of things at Spurs. Levy is too crafty for my simple mind to process, I didn’t agree with the team selection for the Norwich game and the less said about the transfer window shenanigans the better, but we as a whole need to chomp on a big bitter slice of shut the **** up and get behind the team.

Yes I know we’ve done this before and you’re sick of it blah, blah, blah, but a new man at the helm, players in and players out, all equate to one thing being needed, TIME. As football supporters (I use that term loosely thanks to the boo boys) we want everything now or at the very least yesterday, but if you can stop screaming and foaming at the mouth long enough to try and calmly access the situation you will be slapped in the face by facts disguised as a cold wet fish.

AVB has inherited a good squad of players, but some key elements from the Harry era have now gone. Our King has called it a day, Modric was going to go no matter who was in charge and unfortunately we decided to part company with the walking man crush that is VDV (gutted). That is three world class players out. I don’t care who you are, if you lose players like that without like for like replacements you will not be as strong as you were in the previous season, plain and simple.

In regard to transfers in, we may not have signed as big as any of us wanted, but Dembele, Dempsey, Gylfi, Vertonghen and Lloris are all good players. The thing is, 5 new faces, all of whom I think will be great additions, will need time to develop understandings with the old heads and new systems. You can argue that if we had made our signings earlier in the window that they already would have settled in, but that is a question I will lay at the feet of the Chairman.

My point is that we are stuck with what we have whether you like it or not, so the next time 11 men walk on to the pitch in lilywhite amour, remember that for 90 minutes you are the twelfth man. If half way through the season we are in a terrible state and it’s all going to the dogs then venting your frustration may carry some justification, but until such a time I beg you to please give the boys some time and LOVE THE SHIRT.

ive been a proud yid for many years now (well only around since i was ten… 16 years ago) and so i never experienced the glory years an have seen just 2 trophys enter our cabinet in the form of two league cups…. i could of been like all my mates an supported the northern red teams but choose spurs as i liked the look of a purple away/cup shirt i got bought for my birthday…

but ive sure have witnessed many poor seasons an results…. and as far as i can tell we wont be sinking to the lows of the 90’s again thats for sure… so please people…. just get behind the team… the worse that can happen is a sideways step before the step up… keep the faith!! COYS

If any of the boo boys think this is bad they should’ve seen some of Jimmy Anderson’s teams!! We didn’t boo, though – we sang louder. Two and a bit years later we won the double and, as a seventeen year-old I walked across the pitch after we clinched the League, and we all sang so loud the roof could’ve come off. As long as MY team plays the ball on the ground I’ll carry on singing and, if necessary, I’ll sing LOUDER!

A few seasons back I took my distant relative to WHL to watch The mighty Spurs v Liverpool.
It was’nt only his first time to a football match, it was also his first venture from his home town
    and country, Georgia, America!
He was wide eyed and blown away by the atmosphere and unity of the Tottenham fans!
On the way back home, Hucklebury could’nt stop talking about what he had just
experienced, an made me promise, that the next time he came to England, I would take
him again to WHL! Unfortunately Huck passed away last year and never got a chance
to visit The Lane again! Had he done so, I know he would have been devastated to hear
    the negative atmosphere and booing!
So I ask you’s, If you have a modicum feeling in your hearts, don’t do it for me,
but for Hucks sake, stop booing!

    R.I.P Hucklebury.
