Tottenham Hotspur FC Football Club is an England club that plays in the English Premier League. It is the seventh team in the current EPL campaign with 23 points. The club hired Jose Mourinho as its manager on November 20, 2019. Soccer fans can get the latest sports news about the club on Betway. In this post, we will discuss the main January transfers that Jose is expected to make.

1.    Marouane Fellaini

Jose is determined to sign Marouane Fellaini next year. He is playing for Shandong Luneng Taishan. The Tottenham coach is believed to have already contacted Fellaini. Recent reports state that he has a close relationship with the footballer. He is a former Manchester United player who played during Mourinho’s reign at the club. Fellaini is one of Mourinho’s priority transfers according to Les Sports.

Fellaini joined Shandong Luneng in January 2019. He often disagreed with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at United and joined the Chinese Super League. He had moved from Everton after David Moyes bought him from Standard Liege. Fellaini made 177 appearances and scored 33 goals for Everton. Punters who wager on Betway made a profit when Sir Alex Ferguson signed him in 2014. Manchester United paid £27 million for the midfielder.

Many Manchester United supporters criticized Jose’s decision to sign Fellaini. His contract contained a release clause of £23.5m. It was supposed to expire in July. The England club delayed until September and paid more for the player.

Fellaini was nursing injuries when United signed him. Thus, he took long to join other Manchester players. But, he proved his worth at the club under Mourinho and Louis Van Gaal’s tenure. Solskjaer sold him to Shandong early this year.

Manchester United swapped Christian Eriksen with Fellaini. He made 177 appearances and scored 22 goals for the club. Fellaini won the FA Cup with United and helped them win the 2017 Europa League trophy. He has scored 12 goals for Shandong since January. The club finished fifth this year.

The Chinese Super League ended several weeks ago. The 2020/2021 season will begin in late February. Shandong Luneng and Fellaini have enough time to ponder over Mourinho’s offer. The club hasn’t stated how much it can sell the midfielder. Sports enthusiasts believe that Fellaini will be delighted to play under Jose again.

2.    Christian Eriksen

Eriksen’s contract with Tottenham will expire soon. He stated that he isn’t interested in playing for Spurs next season. So, Jose is searching for his replacement. Tottenham reduced Christian’s transfer price. Manchester United is interested in signing him this month. If Tottenham doesn’t sell him in January, he might leave the England club for free in summer. José has limited transfer funds in January. Also, Daniel Levy is willing to make costly transfers since he is still paying for the new stadium.

Tottenham is one of the top England clubs in the Premier League. It has foreign and local footballers with exceptional players. They include Harry Kane, Delle Ali and Son Heung-min. The club replaced Mauricio Pochettino with Jose Mourinho in November. Betway offers a variety of betting markets for EPL. Mourinho might sign Marouane Fellaini and Kalidou Koulibaly in January to improve his squad.
