Tottenham opened up the current season, with high expectations of success. This is due to being busy in the transfer window and Jose Mourinho now set for his first full year as the manager of the club. That is a positive for Tottenham with fans now supporting them world-wide, with Delaware online gambling proving popular on the Premier league markets, as the new stadium also continues to host different events.

Mourinho also led Spurs to a sixth placed finish last season, which ultimately meant European football. That was a positive result, based on the position they were in when he joined the club.

However, Tottenham opened up the Premier league season with a 1-0 defeat at home to Everton. The latter appear much improved this season and also appear likely to be pushing for European places come the end of the season. This result instantly put pressure on Tottenham and Mourinho, who have since returned with a record-breaking performance against Manchester United.

Tottenham travelled to take on United at Old Trafford on the 4th of October, in what was one of the key fixtures for both sides in the picture of the Premier league this season. United had taken a 1-0 lead, through a penalty converted by Bruno Fernandes but the game completely changed following this. Tanguy Ndombele continued his impressive start to the season with an equaliser for Tottenham just two minutes later, before Son then put Spurs ahead after seven minutes. Anthony Martial was then shown a red card for the home side after 28 minutes, which further led to the difficult task at hand for United.

Tottenham then continued their impressive attacking performance, with two further goals in the opening 45 minutes, coming from Harry Kane and Son. It meant Tottenham went into the break with a 4-1 lead and in the process of producing a memorable performance. Spurs then continued on the accelerator in the second half, with Serge Aurier making it 5-1 after 51 minutes. The remarkable victory was then wrapped up with another from captain Kane from the spot.

This was a performance that will be remembered for some time and the confidence within the squad will be very high. The victory was also an important one for Mourinho against his former side, as Spurs now continue to push for those all-important Champions league places come the end of the season.

On top of this, Bale is set to further enhance the side, following his move from Real Madrid on loan. There is immense pressure on him to perform and he could yet make one of the most formidable attacking lines in world football, alongside Son and Kane. It is certainly an exciting period for Spurs at present!

Tottenham have since followed this up with the shock draw and it will not be interesting to see how they bounce back from this.
