Tottenham have come to embody the spirit of football throughout the decades.

The United Kingdom is a country with football in its blood. And as such, there are truckloads of excellent football teams across the entire country be it England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland. Across the stadiums of the country, loyal and passionate fans unrelentingly support their teams through good and bad times.

In today’s article we shall talk about one of the more prominent teams on the British stage: Tottenham Hotspur. Tottenham Hotspur is a team like very few others on the international stage of football. They have come to embody the spirit of football throughout the decades and to explain this we will discuss a few events from Hotspur history below.

1900-1901 – The First FA Cup Win

Throughout its history, Tottenham Hotspur has won the FA Cup seven times which is quite an achievement in itself as that is the third largest amount of victories only behind giants such as Manchester United and Arsenal. But nothing is ever greater than the first taste of victory. That first taste came in the 1901 FA Cup where Tottenham Hotspur faced off against Sheffield United for the finals.

The first match became a draw, but as we have learned throughout history, it is not easy to deny the Hotspur. The rematch for the finals resulted in a resounding victory for Tottenham Hotspur, making them the first and only non-league winner of the cup.

2010-2011 – Qualifying for the Champion’s League

The first time Tottenham Hotspur qualified for the Champion’s League was in the period between 2010 to 2011. And the Hotspur was not going to disappoint fans one bit.

The qualifying rounds went quite smooth for the team, but it would not be long before the first real challenge would emerge: that of Inter. Thanks to excellent playing by Gareth Bale they managed to lessen the impact of the loss they suffered. Revenge was had during their second bout which turned into a resounding victory. They topped their group and were now ready for the knockout stage.

Here they played two matches against AC Milan, winning the first and having a draw for their second meaning they won on aggregate. Unfortunately, this epic journey would come to an end against Real Madrid.

A Team that Punches Above Its Weight Class

On the world stage of football, Tottenham Hotspur is not on the same level as teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona etc. but that sure does not stop them from often playing better than these established titans.

Tottenham Hotspur has had numerous impressive victories both in various cups and epic matches. There is a reason why the club enjoys so much success out of the isles: they encompass the spirit of football. When Tottenham Hotspur plays you just know that you are going to be watching a troupe of dedicated and passionate lads that will deliver a fantastic show. Winning is not the main focus for them, teamwork and synergy is. With an attitude like that you retain and make fans because people are after the real deal. The same principle applies for hobby gamblers. They do not choose an online casino for gambling at random. They rely on comprehensive reviews from real casino experts to figure out where their time and money is best spent.               Tottenham fans are not that different. They look at the field, they see quality and passion and they dedicate themselves to it.
