Hold or Sell – Who Should Conte Keep or Let Go?
At most other clubs in the Premier League there is normally more talk of the players they should be buying rather the ones that could potentially be leaving, but that is the state of affairs that Tottenham Hotspur currently find themselves in, as the likes of Harry Kane continue to try and manufacture big money moves away.
Here we cast an eye over players of all shapes and sizes that Antonio Conte must do everything in his power to keep a hold of this summer, as well as a few others who he should probably look to cash in on while he still can.

Spurs could look like a very different team under Antonio Conte next season with lots of established players eyeing the exit and new faces due to appear in the summer
Hold – Harry Kane
He has only just begun to turn his season around after being unsettled by transfer speculation and a strenuous international workload, but there is no doubt that betting experts and punters alike still view Kane as one of the world’s best marksmen.
The fact is that after his exploits at Euro 2020 (or was it 2021?) he justified his massive £100m price tag, but Spurs will more than likely have to settle for substantially less than that this summer seeing as the goals have dried up. That means that the smart money being used to take advantage of footy free bets is going on Kane to settle down to at least one more season in North London. After all, who exactly can Spurs afford to bring in who will be better than the England striker?
Sell – Dele Alli
In the weeks since Conte has taken over there has been a clear uptick in the form of this prodigious and yet unpredictable talent. Once lauded as one of the best rising talents in world football he has rested on his laurels and appears to be a divisive figure in the dressing room. Even if his form does improve in the short term, Spurs fans know all too well that it won’t last. There will be no shortage of clubs looking to get their hands on Alli and their interest should be welcomed as Conte looks to bolster his transfer kitty.

It’s time for Levy and Co. to live up to the club moto and begin making the sort of moves that could bring major silverware to North London
Hold – Son Heung-min
While his strike partner’s commitment to the white shirt has been in question in recent months the same cannot be levied at Korean hotshot Son Heung-min, who has a contract till 2025. However, this is football, and at the age of 29 Son may get itchy feet this summer. Everything possible should be done to ensure he keeps plying his trade at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, because a player as versatile as him could be even tougher to replace than Harry Kane.
Sell – Eric Dier
Someone somewhere at Spurs loves Eric Dier, because most midfielders who are deemed too slow and ponderous are not then given a second chance at resurrecting their career as an elite level centre back. Indeed, Conte went a step further in late December, making the bold claim that Dier could become one of the best defenders on the planet. When fans stop rolling around in laughter Conte might want to consider waking up to smell the mustard. He must surely realise that the Spurs defence deserves better than what is the footballing equivalent of a second-hand diesel estate with too many miles on the clock.
Sell – Harry Winks
Another homegrown player who Conte has lavished praise on despite fan discontent is midfielder Harry Winks. Unfortunately, at the age of 25 there is no time left for Winks to deliver on his promise and the likes of Tanguy Ndombélé deserve someone alongside them who can anchor the midfield properly rather than looking decidedly lightweight against the league’s big boys.
