Five players who have enjoyed good starts to the Premier League
We are three games into the 2025/26 Premier League season, but the campaign is already put on hold for the first international break of the year.
Despite being so early, the form lines are starting to appear. New signings are making their mark, the usual suspects are at the top of their game, and surprise players are stepping up to the plate.
It’s the kind of start that gets fans excited—and has punters checking the latest offers and UK free bets to make the most of the unfolding storylines. That said, here are five players who have impressed in the first three game weeks.
Joao Pedro: Chelsea
Chelsea’s pursuit of a regular-scoring striker has seemed never-ending, but they may have finally found the solution with Joao Pedro.
The Brazilian arrived from Brighton and Hove Albion for £60m in the midst of their Club World Cup campaign and scored twice in the semi-final against his former side Fluminense before netting against Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
He has carried that fine form into the Premier League, scoring twice and assisting twice in three games. The Blues finally have reason to feel hopeful at Stamford Bridge.
Hugo Ekitike: Liverpool
While Hugo Ekitike may now lose his starting place to Alexander Isak—who joined Liverpool from Newcastle United for a record £130m on deadline day after weeks of speculation—the French forward did a fine job spearheading the Reds’ frontline during the opening weeks.
The 23-year-old registered a goal and an assist on his debut in a 4-2 win over Bournemouth and scored again in Liverpool’s 3-2 victory at St. James’ Park.
It remains to be seen whether Arne Slot finds him a role alongside Isak or if Ekitike becomes an impact option from the bench.
Jack Grealish: Everton
Out of favour at Manchester City, Jack Grealish has been rejuvenated at Everton. The England international has hit the ground running for the Toffees, thrilling fans at the new state-of-the-art Hill Dickinson Stadium when he set up both goals in the 2-0 win over Brighton on gameweek two.
He followed that up with two more assists in the 3-2 victory over Wolves. If Grealish continues this run of form, a recall to the England squad under Thomas Tuchel could be on the cards.
Antoine Semenyo: Bournemouth
Antoine Semenyo enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season, scoring 11 times and providing five assists in 37 appearances, and he looks ready to build on that momentum.
The 25-year-old struck twice against Liverpool at Anfield in the opener, almost leading a stunning Cherries comeback before the hosts pulled away late on.
He then set up the only goal of the game in Bournemouth’s 1-0 win over Wolves the following week. Semenyo is proving he can be a consistent Premier League performer.
Riccardo Calafiori: Arsenal
After three straight runners-up finishes, Arsenal look determined to finally clinch the Premier League crown this season.
While marquee signing Viktor Gyökeres has attracted plenty of attention, it’s Riccardo Calafiori who has been the standout in the early weeks.
The Italian left-back has already chipped in with a goal and two assists in three games—including the decisive strike in the 1-0 win over Manchester United and two key contributions in the 5-0 dismantling of Leeds United.
Arsenal’s faithful will be hoping his form continues deep into the season.
