It also highlights what I've been saying before (if this is true). Poch is quick to act cut throat and no nonsense to players like Benteleb and Son but continuously gives inferior players who don't provide any meaningful contribution like Mason and Carroll game time. Why? Because they behave well in training and say the right things? Who cares when they perform like shite on the pitch.

Agree. After the shocking end to the season (especially Newcastle), I thought we would not see Mason, Carroll and Bentelab in a Tottenham shirt again. The way I see it, we are now a Top 4 Club. Would any of the other Top 4/5/6 buy any of those 3?? No.

I saw on Bleacher Report we are the "preferred destination" for an attacker from Barcelona. Not one of the good ones though unfortunately. Don't remember his name.

***edit - He is called Munir El Haddadi

Well no. But would any top 4/5/6 sign the likes of Simpson, Albrighton, King, Ulloa etc who are all Premier League winners? I know right, you probably don't consider Leicester a top four club.

Would you sign Fabian Delph? How about Jesus Navas? Jesse Lingard? List is endless.

Carroll this season will rarely get games. Would be surprised if he ever starts another Premier League game for us again. We finished 3rd and fought for the title with him in our squad. Is he good enough to start? No. Same with Mason but to moan about how to they're getting game time over supposed superior players because they say the right thing or perform better in training is stupid. Pochettino made it clear that you're signed to train. Then you start if you deserve it. I'd much rather someone in the squad who wants to play for this club, wants to train hard to improve, even if their ability isn't the best over someone like Bentaleb who has asked to leave the club.

Poch said everyone except Pritchard, Fazio & Benteleb was in his plans. This was in Australia and we already had our 2 signings. Therefore that is the number of players he needed. Therefore we should either refuse to sell any of the fringe players other than Benteleb or replace. N'jie only goes if replaced and that should be the same with all the others. Just because at the moment we are playing 1 match a week and do not need some, we may when playing 2 matches a week and tiredness and injuries hit.

Something I don't quite get. Woolwich are derided by the media and slated by nearly all their fans for not spending big or breaking the bank for this or that player to help take them to the " next level". In short, they are torn into big time for not paying over the odds when needed and being a bunch of penny pinching cunts and the supporters are really funked off with it.
Whereas we, who take penny pinching to a whole new level, all ways break even or better, refuse to buy anyone over the age of around 24, no longer even linked with the type of player we used to attract are lauded as the model club. With Levy applauded for running his tight ship, and the majority of our supporters seemingly happy with our pathetic small time approach in the transfer market
I'm baffled by it to be honest

So we need to be more like Gooners?

To be honest, half the nonsense that you come out with, you're halfway there..... fam.

Not buying this Son report. Seems totally out of left field. Especially if we aren't getting someone better in....which id be almost certain that we aren't.

Don Giovanni Don Giovanni has a massive hard-on right now

If there is any truth in this it makes Mitchell look like a dick:
Fazio - Miss
Wimmer - Hit but still to stake a place
N'Jie - Miss
Son - I see potential others don't if above is true = Miss
Trippier - Average player, will never make 1st team
Wanyamma - Like Poch doesn't know who he is!!
Jansen - Still to prove but looking good so far.
Stambouli - Miss

How do you know how they train. Or what "right things" they say? How do you know how that decision process works when Poch decides which players to have faith in and which ones to disregard.

You don't, you have no idea. Speculation and conjecture.

I'm not saying that i would agree with every decision Poch makes or that he is infallible. He's clearly a young manager, and is still learning (we all are... our whole lives).

But you have no idea how and why he makes decisions on his squad. Save of a relatively small amount of game time by comparison, and some secondhand information from the media and "insiders" tweets, we have very little genuine insight into how players are performing or accommodating themselves within the team.

I know that his decison to continuously give mason and carroll chances can't have anything to do with their performances on the pitch. Thats not guess work...thats fact being that they provide nothing when on the pitch (whats our ridiculously bad win record when mason is starting again?). I also know that benteleb was given 1 game when returning from injury...played shite...and never played again WHILST Mason got countless chances upon his return from injury despite playing worse than benteleb did in his 1 game. I just like players being treated fairly tbh and it doesnt really seem like some of them are imho.

I think it's down to attitude. I'm guessing of course, but I feel that if a player has the right attitude (in Poch's view) then he's got something to work with. With the wrong attitude there's not much he can do. The 90 minutes at the weekend are all we see - the vast majority of a player's work is done on the training ground - something we don't get to see.

If a player isn't committed to the team then why should he feel obligated to be loyal to the player?

Every player goes through a rough patch. Some of thosed decide to seek greener pastures elsewhere, others like Lamela don't even consider a move despite intense pressure, put their head down, and work towards obsessive improvement. Son has had a rough time. If he wants a move then it doesn't necessarily raise any eyebrows, but neither should Poch feel obligated to keep a player around the first team that wants to leave.

And I think it's hard to claim that Bentaleb has been treated unfairly. He was one of Poch's early favorites, one of the first names on the team sheet. Bentaleb has been permanently injured however, and has also apparently been angling for a move. He didn't fall quickly out of Pochettino's favor, it was a long slow process and he was given plenty of opportunities to pull himself out of it.
