This isn't fucking football manager.
We don't have a mega rich arab owner with billions and billions of oil money.

There is a reason we have invested heavily in our training and youth facilities. To develop great players to enable us to compete. It's a different path to the likes of Chelsea and city, abs I think we're much the better for it.

Even when the new stadium is built, we will not be going out and spending £300-£400 million in one transfer window and I fucking hope that remains the case!

Some of you will think I'm not a Spurs fan for what I'm about to say but I don't give a fuck...I would rather win FUCK ALL than do a city or Chelsea approach. To win that way would make all victories hollow, in my eyes. I love our current plan and approach and obviously hope it yields success and trophies. If it doesn't, I'll be disappointed...but I will still have my Tottenham Hotspur.

Could not agree more. You know how it feels to beat a lower league team in the FA cup? i.e. You should win, it's not exactly a buzz. That's how I imagine these Chelsea and City "supporters" feel after most games. What a depressing thought that is.

We could do with 2 or 3 better squad players, they don't need to be expensive - just slight upgrades on our current squad players.

I would imagine they would be somewhere between £10m and £30m each though, depending on age, current league and contract length.

I'd be very pleasantly surprised if all of Carter-Vickers, Walker-Peters, Onomah, Nkoudou and Janssen step up to mean we don't need anyone. But I just can't see it happening from what I've seen so far.

I've started to warm to the idea of King.

I'm sure it's a club tactic - release some spurious itk that we're interested, then sit around doing fuck all for 2 months. In that time we go from "meh" to "why haven't you signed him??"

Even bloody Zaha is starting to look like the one that got away!

Not sure there's anyone we've been consistently linked with that I would say outright I don't want - our squad just looks a few players light to get through (hopefully) 60+ games.

Yes that's right. The Daniel Levy Appreciation Society. You can join too if you wish.
I'm already in and a proud member. Best chairman in Europe.

Fuck em all as far as I'm concerned.

Too many cretins looking at Scum like Chelsea with jealousy.....I feel sorry for anyone who would swap Levys policy for Abramovichs.

Oh don't tell me "WHO SAID THAT?!"

Starting to sound like a new game show around here......I know I know....nobody said that.

People post their trophies and say Spurs have won fuck all. But they don't want what Chelsea have.

They want us to spend to compete with Chelsea. But they don't want us to do what Chelsea are doing.

Sooooooooooo.......WHO SAID THAT!!??

Kerching! You just won the internet!!!

Okay, let's just set out what most of us actually agree on. I may be wrong, but it appears to me that the consensus is...
The first 11 is pretty much set with the exception of Trippier for some. In terms of absolute needs, I can only think of a back up RB. Beneficial areas would be: a back up CB, back up striker (more me really), and back up AM.

My personal opinion is that we should spend no more than 20 million on an individual player unless they will go straight into the starting 11. I would prefer young players pushing the regulars.I am slightly mythed we have not got anything sorted as of yet. That is my main gripe.

Just sign some players FFS. You cant have a decent season without signing new players..
I mean no way would we have finished 2nd had we not spent money on Sissoko, Janssen or GKN..

Take Man Utd for example, 90m on Pogba .. If only we could finish higher than them.

2 of my life long Chelsea supporting friends stopped supporting them around 5 years after the oil rig took over. They went to supporting the team local to us (Leicester City).

Just goes to show not all fans of those clubs enjoy the massive finances being thrown about.

The problem is that having a super expensive squad with all the top talent is the only way Pep knows how to win things. But even then, he has to hope these players gel and like playing together as I don't think he has half the skill at building a team ethic that other managers have, including our very own Poch.

Their buying history is full of highly paid players who ended up with broken dreams, some not even making more than the odd appearance on the Watney Cup.

Take Chel$ea for example, i think (and may be wrong) that they have around seventy players out on loan around the World? Pray tell what fucking chance does sixty five of those players have of rubbing shoulders with the likes of Hazard, or some other mercenary cunt in their starting eleven?

I don't want to follow a team made up of a hybrid of mercenary fucktards who give nothing back to the club or it's fans. In truth what legacy or memories will any of those players at either City, Man Ure of Chel$ea leave their respective communities aside from a few kisses of their clubs badges until their agent lines up their next big pay day?

Would have loved to have seen Kyle's face when Danilo, his new RB competition turned up at City...................:walker::walkercry:

"but I though I was first choice"

He is. He's just going to have £30M player to back him up instead of Trippier. The difference between us and €ity. They pay our club record fee for depth players. Poch develops his (less pricy) to international players...

Poch >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pep.

I do not agree that our first eleven is set. That is regressive thinking because it presupposes form being maintained and that no player within our rank can forge through.

As for the notion of only paying 20 million pounds for a player at a time when 20 million buys you very little, that again is hugely limiting.

Quite honestly I think our form and performances of last seasom will be nigh on impossible to repeat and we also have players or a style of play that arguably is not best suited for Wembley.

I feel we need to be very careful of assuming we can just do all we did once again.
