Genuine question:
In terms of a new player coming into our squad, what is the difference between it being someone like Foyth and an academy player like Georgiou or Oakley-Booth?
A Right Back. Are Clyne or Valencia-manu within price and salary range?!Personally I agree with you. With Walker gone the one position I think would should have thought about is right back.
So who would you have targeted and looked to sign?
I have no doubt that he could cover there fairly adequately. Just means we have one less player that can cover at CM and CB.
He also lacks the attacking ability (dribbling, pace).
I will be extremely disappointed if we go into the first game of the season with him at RB..

Fosu-Mensa is a unit. I reckon he'd be a really good signing & fits the profile. Young, a player Poch can work with, very talented & quick. United won't sell him to us imo. They'd rather, & can afford to leave him on the fringes than strengthen a direct rival. Mourinho is a cunt & has been spoiling young talent for years.Mate, on principal alone, they'd want more than we got for KW!
Can't see Man U parting with Valencia either.... Fosu-Mensa however seems very much on the fringes and has looked promising whenever I've seen him play.
My main gripe as you say is because it means we lose him in midfield or central defence, but I wouldnt be extremely dissapointed if we sign a RB, but Poch goes with Dier and brings the new guy in over the coming weeks.
I wouldnt want to go with it til January though, absolutely.

We need a RWB though to play in the preferred formation - cant think of many transferable skills between CB & RWB - easier to find RB/CBCan we perhaps sign a player that can play CB and RB...?
Gives us the necessary boost in depth, but still leaves a path clear for KWP over the next 12 months.
If Pochs shows he is willing to play Dier (or whoever) at RB on Sat; I think this would actually be preferable to focusing on the RB berth specifically.

IMO Clyne is not better than KW and Valancia is 32yo so can't see they would want more, should be less.Mate, on principal alone, they'd want more than we got for KW!
