Don't see why we would lose Davies, he's been solid for us. Even if he became second choice when/if Rose comes back he's a more than decent back up.

For me having Rose, Davies and Sessegnon wouldn't be practical. If you offered me the chance to move Davies on in order to bring in a prospect like Sessegnon I'd take it. Ryan won't come in as 3rd choice but as rotation with Danny I'm sure he'd jump at the chance

Its all too late

You know it's fcuking boring though. Do we want the player or not? A sensible offer gets him. Unbelievable that the same nonsense happens each year.

You know we were 2nd last season and feared in the Premier League.

We are working hard to undo that.

and if we've made what the people (cos its more than one individual) at the club who take responsibility over transfers consider to be a sensible offer? decide what you think he's worth, make your offer. if, at any point they insist on more than you are prepared to pay, walk away.

After all, what they are asking for may not be sensible

Correct but then you have time to look elsewhere or increase your bid.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Arse go for Barclay now they have sold OC to Chelsea.

Reckon we will get in 1 attacking player in addition to Aurier and Foyth. 2 would be nice though. Want to look at our bench and feel like we actually have someone that can come on and make something happen.

Saw a quote the other day saying they had too many players so needed to move some on.
One thing they don't need is another midfielder.

Think Barkley is ours tbh. Just the normal dicking about we get this time of year.

I'd be really amazed if we didn't sign any attacking players this window.
Poch said 4 signings, if those are 3 defenders and a keeper I would be a bit disappointed.
Especially as, according to Foyth, Pochettino told him he will play. Don't know if that means PL 2.
Not that it's all good business and prudent, but we could do with another player for the front 3.

I don't see the flaw. He's saying it depends on the player - which it does. Where's the evidence that signing players early in the window is more beneficial to the club than later? It sounds like common sense, I agree, but is it really true? You get hits and misses at either end of the window. It's not a question to which you can give a direct answer.

That is exactly the point I am trying to make to sammy. Yes transfers are a lottery, but judging by most of our previous seasons, we started bad, made some signings, they came in the first 11 and improved our team and we started playing well, and he completely dismisses that!

Well that's his right. You say 'judging by most of our previous seasons' but is this true? I have no idea, but my major gripe is selling important players too late and leaving no time to find adequate replacements - Keane and Berbatov spring to mind and Levy has learned that lesson. Whether his brinksmanship at the end of the window will hurt us this season has yet to be established imo.

But if we move Davies in as cover for Vertonghen. Then Ryan can rotate with Rose.
That leaves Sanchez as Toby rotation or first choice in a three at the back with Toby and Jan. Foyth gives us youthful depth with Wilmer's departure. And Dier gets used in midfield where he is most effective.
