This is not the first time we've dealt with an overseas transfer - our negotiators aren't thick, they would have known very well who long it takes to get a work permit and would have known this before enquiring about a player

Not being funny, but if he's on the bench for Portugal, is he really going to be signing a contract? Or do you think he has already signed it? Just seems a bit unlikely to me, but then I am firmly IDK.
