West Ham - League cup game

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Disappointing, but hardly heartbreaking. This cup is a bit of a joke these days. Even if we’d won it nobody would have given a fuck. It should be for football league clubs only.
If a genie offered to swap this result with the away win against West Ham a few weeks ago, I wouldn't do so.

Perhaps if Man City had been beaten on penalties last night - but as that didn't happen, I'd rather the three points in the league.

Ahh well, at least we get to sit back and enjoy what this forum does best:

See you all at the weekend when they'll all be back in the bin.

I think at 2-2 We gave up...
The prospect of extra time didn't seem to appeal to ANYBODY, so we may as well 'finish the game off' in 90 minutes...

Just a shame the word didn't get to the players that WE were allowed to win 3-2 as well as them!
Bollocks to it... and their CUNT FINAL!

bed now is best...

Sometimes in sport, you need an eye opener like that to push you further. Rather them be complacent and get their comeuppance in this nonsense than against say APOEL in CL or Woolwich in the League.

Long term, this may help avoid complacency. But for now, it's just a pain in the arse.

I don't think playing a very unconventional back 5 really helped. Davies out of position (for us), Rose's first start for nearly a year, Hoyth with only 90 mins for Spurs under his belt. Vorm looked rusty as fuck.

We where better in the first half but West Ham didnt really give us much to think about. 2nd half they where told to get bodies in the box and we couldn't deal with it.
Honestly mate, I think it is as simple as the fact we forgot there was a second half to play. Strong words to be had about mentality.

Poch looked so angry. I'd be terrified to face him if I was one of our team tonight. This is a team fighting off relegation with a manager who is fighting for his job, if we had tried we could have easily blown them away. Totally lazy attitude tonight.

for me nkoudou doesn´t player any more senior football with us. enough is enough, embarrassing
I scrolled back to see how people saw that second half. Its funny if you start at Page 30, the number of people wanting him to be brought on.
Fuck knows why, I've never seen anything at all in him that makes me think "Ooooh, great, N'Koudou coming on!". Him and that other N'K have been two of the worst bits of scouting in recent years

im angry because it's them. we were bad, but in a long term this can be good. we didn't win trophies in a while, but I wouldn't give a shit about winning league cup.

Frankly, Poch selected a strong enough lineup to win this going away. Sure, I’d have liked him to make some changes faster at 2-2, and bringing Eriksen on in the 81st minute was too late for him to get in a rythum, but this is all in the players in the second half. Just sloppy up front and poor discipline at the back.

Yes, second rate cup, but still, poor effort.

It happens too often against this pile of shit of a club, seriously , everyone else bitch slaps them , but they fuck us over on a regular basis, why don't our players fucking care ?

Jesus, I get that it is a disappointing end considering how we started, but how about a little perspective?

We haven't lost in our previous 7 games, just beat the piss out of Liverpool, had a great performance and result against Madrid away, were starting the game while missing a few key players, and we still came out strong against them.

We came out with a stronger lineup than expected, but does anyone really think that our intention was to come out and make a statement with this game? This game meant 10x more to the spammers than us, and it showed in the second half.

Am I disappointed? Sure, but mostly because we were up 2-0 and should be able to finish it off.

Do I feel that this result has any bearing on United this weekend? No. Does this make me question the squad? No. Poch? No.

And what's worse is the manner in which we went out. Playing like we literally couldn't give a fuck.Against one of our most bitter rivals. Gifting the cunts 3 goals. It's the humiliation that hurts. I thought we were past this shit.
West Ham are not our "bitter rivals". They are a tin pot club with delusions of grandeur who think they matter more than they do. Their inevitable boasting after this game like they have just won the Champion's League will attest to that.

For me this is more about the manner of the performance than who it was against and it would have been unacceptable against any of the sides in the competition in my opinion.

I can't be bothered with you mate. It is more than just losing a game. Can you not see that? Obviously not.
Yeah we lost against those cunts after being 2-0 up. We're out of the cup.

It's not the end of the world. We are joint 2nd in the league, likely getting through our CL group, one of the best young teams in Europe with a fantastic manager.

I'm pissed off that we lost but I can still see a lot of positives about Tottenham.

Not entirely suprised or concerned. Its a young squad that have had 2 big games close together and are probably a bit drained. Poch has to prioritise - you cant play this high energy football 3 times in a week and a bit. The only way you can grind out results is playing mourinhoball and fuck that. Big game at the weekend where i think everyone will have regrouped
