West Ham - League cup game

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

How can we dream of winning CL(lol) when we're struggling to even win a Coca Cola Cup?

We have a remote chance of winning PL and zero chance of winning CL. We should be targeting to win domestic cups and europa league first to build a winning mentality. Then we can go from there.

Atletico didn't win la liga out of nowhere. They won twice both Europa and copa de la rey four years before they ultimately won they league.

Fergie Utd won FA in 90, uefa Cup in 91 before they won their first league title in 26 yrs in 1993.

Success breed success.
We're not struggling to win the Coca Cola.
If we went full strength last night and played it like it was CL game we would win 10-0

I was there.
The reason, myself and many of my mates are pissed off is because who it was against, not the cup itself.
Now i know for many the hammers come way down the list of teams to dislike, but i have had many many experiences with the people that follow them,so never miss a chance to bask in a victory over them(I went mental when our ladies beat their ladies at the Lane back in May...)
Sadly, despite promising early signs i cant do that this morning.
Hence why have the effing hump!
I hate West Ham fiercely. But they really are chewing gum on the bottom of our shoe these days. Yea, it's annoying. Very much so. But let's have it right, West Ham fans would much rather be where Spurs are than having nights like last night every once in a while.

We beat them in the League, which is far more important.

Also you are saying we have a remote chance of winning the PL, while claiming that we shouldn't look up because we went out last night.....doesn't make sense

How many times have Chelsea and City win the CC recently? A few less times than they've won the league eh....

I think I can kind of see both (or multiple) sides of the argument here. I'm just not buying into this 'not caring about certain trophies because they're not prestigious enough' thing. As provocative as it may sound, for me, it's a very new fan thing.

Anyway, bring on United.

Oh i agree...It's just this morning i don't feel like i agree.

If that makes sense

600+ hits from kumb. I've just re-opened registration. :crouch:

Bring em on. We've got more ammo than they'll ever have.

The heady highs of a cup final win at Wembley will prepare them for next seasons glamour fixture at the racing track against Burton Albion.

Mourinho will look at Pochettino and think mate you don't get it.

You don't kmow how to create a winning team and he might be right.

Whatever anyone thinks we do not progress as a club when you lose games like last night. It should not happen.

Forgot the nonsense about who played. The line is that the manager must instill the importance of every single game mattering.

Players cannot switch off at any time if success as a club is what you want.

At home and 2 up. And we lose. Utterly indicative of inherent weakness that can be exploited and will out itself at crucial times.

Only when I am proven wrong will I not be right.

Whilst in part i agree you can fuck right off with your Maurinho bullshit.

Did they not lose to Huds at the weekend whilst appearing to lack motivation?

This is a sensible post Sean and one that all can relate to. I'm in the camp of them never mattered to me, never seen them as rivals, that's genuine but I get and understand many do and why. The only time I lost my shit having lost against them was when Sherwood was in charge, I could embarrassingly been spotted on my own screaming at the top of my voice waiving my arms in the air in the Upper East, probably more to do with other stuff going on around with us as well. Plus I openly admit to getting drawn into a rivalry with them in the past 5yrs or so, which I think is down purely to them getting louder and louder, basically they have elevated themselves above Palace, Fulham, QPR etc..

I'm interested to know if today feels the same as a loss against them 10 years ago though, does it?

your right every game is important, winning creates that mental frame work that the players need, it also shows other teams we are hard to beat, this result allows our players to think no kane no win, and the opposition to think no kane we have a chance to beat these

We won a shit load of games without Kane last season so cant buy that, sorry.....

Yes, but i would have had a lot more grief 10 years ago.
Mixed in different circles back then
