Away support in Home section

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What has been absolutely driving me mental has been in the recent big champions league matches at wembley the amount of away supporters that are in the home section.

They don’t even try and hide it and celebrate wildly with no fear.
I’m not saying let’s go back to the days of sparking anyone out not supporting spurs. But the stewards have to try and do something about it.

During Juventus last season I’m the one who got in trouble by reacting to the Italian fans sitting behind me wildly celebrating when they scored their second right in my face.

Last night there were tonnes of Barcelona fans talking, clapping and celebrating the goals. Not one Tottenham fan said anything or any steward did anything. (Not that there are many around)

Now we all in hindsight can appreciate the excellent goals Barca scored, but to have people celebrating right next to you, I feel is still unacceptable.

Or is this just the way football is these days?

I know tottenham restrict sales sometimes to people on the databases, but it clearly doesn’t work, so I think the only way is for stewards at the match to cut it out.

can’t fight them these days

So you want the stewards to preserve a contrived tribal boundary for us, that it?

Meh. Nah. Footballs changed. Welcome them

Or fight them. Whatever

@ London Living Wage no steward is likely to give a shit nor see it as worth enforcing.

Reflecting on your post, I do have to say It’s neither a Wembley nor new issue. One of my worst experiences at WHL was losing to Leicester when it was absolutely pissing down and behind me in block 30 ( where I was at the time ) there was a whole row of City supporters, guessing it was 2001 time.

Other occasions I recall, generally were connected to the Executive Boxes that used to be behind block 31 - so many times you had away fans there and they were such arrogant pricks. I was struck by a coin once by some goons ( not targeting me others were hit too ) and I bet others recall the day Mike Parry turned up ! It’s ridiculous how easy it is to cross populate when pound notes are traded. Even WHL stewards did basically fuck all. Even the mighty “Green Team”

Last season @ Wembley we had a lot of Spammers behind us in the Club Wembley section during the League Cup game. And fuck was that annoying, no one did a thing.

Wembley is not home and is the national stadium so it’s not that weird to be fair.
There was a couple sitting a couple of rows in front of us last night but they never enjoyed the night that is for sure. They were made to feel uneasy and clapped twice maximum when they scored.

Won’t happen at the new WHL that is for sure.

As I mentioned in the match thread me and another fella had to have words with a couple of blokes in Barca shirts in the bogs near block 131 before the game.

They went into the cubicles and changed out if them quick smart. I fucking hate away fans in the home sections that dont know how to behave.

It’s fucking bad enough being stood in a pub amongst oppo fans tbh. Sometimes have to remember I’m an old bloke with responsibilities and bite my lip.
I was also at the Juve game last year and genuinely struggled (along with many others) to contain my anger when those greasy fuckers started celebrating.

But it’s here to stay I’m afraid, & with all the televised stuff, people have to learn to contain it, because there would be mass brawls in every pub showing live footie, every single match.

Last night was a fucker for example. Spam fans cheering on Barcelona in my local.
:avbnaa:

Makes me laugh, the stewards spent half of last season telling us to sit down... actually filming us for standing up, yet they turn a blind eye to opposing fans being in the home fans?

Bunch of fucking clown shoes.

Make them feel very unwelcome. Maybe not spark them right out but they should definitely not feel welcome. I actually went to the lane to see us against Liverpool (a few years back at Klopps first game) with a Liverpool friend of mine who got me a ticket. We sat in the south side and he knew to keep his mouth shut, luckily enough they didn't score though anyway.

Juventus earlier this year was embarrassing, hundreds of the cunts at the back of the stands openly laughing at us. I saw a few punches thrown but the majority of our fans surrounding them weren’t the type to kick up a fuss

I have been in plenty of home ends to watch Spurs but I sit on my hands and show a bit of respect.
Last time I did that was West Brom away. Had some far too friendly WB fans trying to talk to me, asking me for opinions on various Baggies players. Didn’t have a fucking clue. Fortunately I didn’t get tempted to put on a Black Country accent!

:dierno:

But I did openly wear a Tottenham bar scarf... albeit with the chicken badge hidden.

That’s what’s so crappy. The stewards did nothing for them being loud and laughing/celebrating. And only stepped in when I lost it and finally snapped and grabbed the guy and said you shouldn’t even be here, so shut the f up.

Then I’m the one who nearly gets kicked out. Cut out the trouble before it begins by stopping the antagonism.

Wanna bet that the stewards abroad wouldn’t be so fucking chummy with Spurs fans...assuming big groups of us even got into the away section.
Needs sorting out properly really. Stewards may not give a fuck here, but they would if it went off good time. And the club needs to crack down on it. Something for the trust to legitimately go to work on, rather than belly aching about Milton cunting Keynes.

Not so much away support infiltrating our section, where I was with my kids in 509, there were actual Spurs fans clapping at Messi scoring. Now I can appreciate Messi being the greatest player of this generation. However I will never, ever clap an opposition goal scored against us no matter how brilliant it is.

I was also at the Juve match and it kicked off big time have a whole row of Juve fans wearing Spurs tops.
