Match Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League - 10.11.18

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Saw a funny tweet earlier that Crystal Palace are always difficult to beat but in the end always get beat.

Our last four games against them were all 1-0 wins.

0-1 (Kane 88)
1-0 (Son 64)
0-1 (Eriksen 78)
1-0 (Wanyama 82)

6 of the last 7 games between the two clubs have ended 1-0.

The only time it didn't was when we beat them 1-3 with THAT Dele goal.

So I'm expecting a 4-5 thriller.

We should be able to beat Palace without Dele or/and Eriksen.

It's Palace, ffs.

We play before every single top 6 team. Go in there and get out of there with an important 3 points and sit back and wait for at least one of them to drop points tomorrow.
Couldn’t give a fuck if it’s Palace. It’s not early rounds of a tinpot trophy & to keep the pressure on at the top while still not in top gear is vitally important. If they are up to playing they should play. Would be mightily pissed off if we slip up against this lot by “resting” players. You know that Southgate will play Alli if fit, so the fact that we may not baffles me.

I think that's Pochs point...

England aren't going to rest him. When he needs a rest. I'd personally prefer to play him and then get him removed from the England squad through "niggly injury" but that's disrespectful on the player if he's not injured.

If Poch goes with a cm2 of Winks and Sissoko after that shit show at wolves he wants his fucking bumps feeling.

Bollocks to resting players so they are fresh for fucking Rooney’s testimonial.

We need to get back to playing like a team, playing some proper football again, we need our best team out there.

Club pays his wages, not England. I’d say it’s disrespectful to the club to play him in a meaningless charity match for Wayne frigging Rooney.

Totally agree, but the FA see things differently...

(See prev. sagas over the likes of Sturridge and Rogers' war with them over who has jurisdiction over his fitness during an international break)

Great post, totally agree:
Rooney has had his day in the sun, bit like Beckham, just does not no when to say goodbye!

My interpretation of reports I've read is that this is more driven by the FA then WR.... Despite the 'for Rooneys charity' hype-line, allegedly none of the gate money is going to his charity. The whole thing reeks of them trying to rinse his MLS form in the name of previously poor ticket sales...

He'll play against Croatia in the Nations League, not the friendly.

Just like Kane. Trippier. Winks. Dier.

We're not the only club who moans about this.
We can’t not play him just to keep him fresh for international duty. It’s absurd. Whether it’s against USA for the Rooney reach around or in that shitty UEFA moneyspinner. The FA should respect that he plays for us first and foremost and if we say he’s not able to play 2-3 games in quick succession, we take clear precedence. Anything else is ridiculous.

While logic argues in your favour, I don't trust the FA (irrespective of who's in the dugout).

I still think the fear of loss permeates through even the most meaningless friendlies... (See the reluctance to experiment with alternative keepers during Hart's decline.)

I imagine Dele is probably proud to represent his country and therefore Poch wouldn't put a stop to that. I don't think the FA cares for any club, let alone Spurs.

Again, I couldn't care less if he plays for England or not and I won't cry if he doesn't play tonight. We've beaten better teams and played good football without Dele Alli and I imagine it'd be the same tonight. Though I'd prefer he did play as we are a better team with him.

He's clearly been struggling with a hamstring injury for the last 5 months.
