Stadium Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Stadium is immense after going today. You can see all the photos and live cams you like but nothing prepares you for the pure enormity of it. Everything about it was top class although slightly concerning the Tap Inn nearest me, block 517, ran out of Amstel by 4pm.

One thing that could be a problem going forward and I'm sure the club are monitoring it, is the sheer number of fans gravitating to the South stand before kick off. I walked down there about 3.45 and it was pretty rammed already. when walking back to the North, via the West stand, there was a huge bottleneck forming to get into the South in the other direction. A couple of club staff in suits and using walkie talkies were talking down the radio how ridiculous the volume of people was. I just wonder whether in the future, maybe from the start of next season possibly, they block it off for just south stand patrons only.

It also looked like they were holding south stand ticket holders outside from entering the ground due to the overcrowding but this could have been just general crowd management.

Some instant feedback, we were again victims of our own success, the amount of ale consumed was staggering the massive orders clearly weren't massive enough, it's obvious that the Goal Line Bar is where everyone wants to be. That's great but it also created some fairly big issues. Having 45,000 fans (still 15,000 short) all seemingly trying to use the South Stand Market Place, when there are three other 'feature' bars with large capacity around the ground, was not altogether expected. There is a clear pattern already developing, people enter all around the ground then they all migrate to under the South Stand, this caused some bottlenecks both heading in and heading out of the South Stand. The same pattern is repeated at the end of the game with people not leaving but heading to under the South Stand.

Nothing to worry about in terms of certification, but something the club will look at. Maybe as fans get used to their own stand's bars this mass migration to the Goal Line Bar will stop but somehow I doubt it, the herd-mentality of the like-minded masses is very much going to be part of the Tottenham day out.

It appears that once again the post match 'hanging around' was fantastic, did anyone stay back for that?

Remarkable that we had room for another 21,000 people in the stands when looking at this photo. Those navy blue seats are an absolute masterstroke. It'll hardly ever look like it has pockets of gaps because of the seat colour.

Also can you imagine the noise another 21,000 are going to make, as well as the others when it's a competitive game of high importance? Amazing

Certainly impressive in the bowl. I’m happy with the new views. On arrival I was impressed by the entry process, politeness of staff and how easy the security set up is to navigate.

Beavertown Bar was good, a little busier than I expected but pre match presented few problems.

Different at half time and full time. Half time cues were poor at the bar closest to where we are (512) and beer ran out.

Full time was a calamitous cluster fuck when they shut off the entry from East to South and Market Place and Beavertown were out of reach. What they were doing I don’t know and the crowds going either way were concerning in numbers. It’s actually quite hard to leave to street level.

I heard there were lots of problems getting on the trains to boot, which is a shame although did not affect me will affect others in our group.

All in all. Great to be back.

PS. Sad to see the dirt bag Bill Nicholson pub shut. It had its “charms” but ironic to see a couple of our less bright fans keeping up the tradition of buying cans in the off licence and drinking them outside the pub.

Brilliant day, what a stadium. Bit of a farce stopping people going to the market place before the game but hopefully that’ll sort it self out soon. Oh and running out of beer in 2 of the 3 bars I went to was not fun but this is what the events are for I guess, gauging how much to get in. Loved the fact they played Can’t Smile ... just before kick-off too.

only watching on Inter TV, for the first 5-10 mins of second half many seats were empty, as people filed back in,
I hope it was because folks were looking round in the bars etc, but I fear it will be queues for toilets & beers which I did warn about before they built the stadium, everybody wants a beer & toilet in the a 10 min window with 5 mins to get from/to your seat

another great day. pre-match haven't seen outside that busy/buzzing for decades.
found a spot pre-match which is still relatively quiet so hopefully that continues

Didnt even attempt to get to the Southstand bar, was obviously rammed, Entered in gate 21 and head round the North Stand to look at the finished IT Server Room on L1, still amazed DL wanted that all on show behind Glass, suspect there will be some sponsorship on display there before long. Headed up to Level 5 and to a Tap In bar, run out of pies apart from veggie stuff. the beer pouring was a joke, he gave me half a pint and half froth, insisting it was a pint, to rounds of laughter from me and those around me.. Headed further round to another tap in bar, this one FULL of pies and food !! Still no draught beer. Half time went for a drink level 5 at The White Hart, some live music on and very well done out. Finally got a proper pint of Neck Oil. Also had problem with my Contactless credit card, just wouldn't work so assumed it was faulty. But, was perfectly fine when I used it later nearer home.

Most Staff were superb, but some of them, the half pint is a full pint man and the ones who were struggling with my credit card, were struggling. TO be fair it was very busy and I think they were a bit out of their depth, but this was a test event and hopefully the beer and food supply will be sorted. DL will be furious that they were out of food and the beer an hour before the game.

What a Stadium though, the attention to detail and finish is just amazing. Oh , another positive, the half time Wee was easy with plenty of toilets available, certainly on L5 around block 524 anyway. Headed up home and White Hart Lane was so busy heading North, so took a nice stroll up to Silver Street and walked straight onto the first train. The Parking at Cheshunt was obviously busier than it used to be.

It was late coming, but well done DL for sticking to your guns and insisting on this level of build.. Now, please go and strengthen the squad to go with out shiny stadium.

Anyone sat in north lower for either game? What have the bars been like there? A bit quieter with everyone migrating south, or is it really busy because people can’t be bothered with the hassle of going to the other end of the stadium?

simfin glad you said halftime wee was easy lots of toilets, (need that at my age), but on TV did look half empty into second half (like wembly looks like)
hopefully they are overstocked with staff serving beer & food, yes it costs money in wages, but thats nothing to how bad the empty seats look like,
