Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

simfin glad you said halftime wee was easy lots of toilets, (need that at my age), but on TV did look half empty into second half (like wembly looks like)
hopefully they are overstocked with staff serving beer & food, yes it costs money in wages, but thats nothing to how bad the empty seats look like,

Have to admit I was 10 minutes late getting back to the seat for the 2nd half. Think will always be tight to leave on the half time whistle, have a widdle, then get a pint before going back. I wouldn't normally worry about a half time drink anyway personally when not a test event. My mate I took was amazed you couldnt take a pint back to the seat..

The stadium even offers Veggie Pis!!! :pochshock2:

Is that a Chinese knock-off of one of these:

Unavoidable if you queued for a beer, it took 25mins for me to queue and 5mins drink it. Obviously won’t be doing that at HT in any other game so hopefully they’ll improve that experience.

No idea why they don’t pre-pour drinks for HT, maybe the quick-pourers are there to prevent having to do that, but when they’re pouring very slowly it kind of defeats the object. Maybe they were so slow because they were running out.

I got to The Bell and Hare (I don't use the other name) around 14.45. £5.50 for a pint of Strongbow! Being in the beer garden (car park) really did feel like being home though and reminded me of old times and good memories.

Couple of pints and headed straight in to the ground around d 15.30ish.

As we knew the South Stand/Goal line Bar would be mobbed and we were meeting a few people we went to the Dispensary. Apart from half the stewards we asked giving us wrong directions (all very smiley and polite though) we eventually found it via the strairs. That was a slog and at one point I thought I was going to need oxygen.

We got our pie and pint for a £5 deal (Spurs pie and a 330m bottle of Magners) at the Tap Room(?) after a couple of mins of the staff working out how to apply the discount.

The Dispensary itself was not too busy and also had some teething issues with very slow pouring pints but we were getting served promptly right up to 17.00pm

It was busy but not ridiculously so. If I can find the lift next time I would use it again.

Met up with my the fella I sit with at matches, also had my brother in law with us, met up with an old friend and also CSWY (again) and An Aussie Yid In London. Nice fellas and a pleasure to drink with.

I think getting home is going to be the hard part of the match day experience.

I think post match Wed could be carnage. I might leave on 75 mins ;-)

Have to say I had a completely different experience.

Arrived about 4pm and entered through gate 6. Wandered straight down to Market Place and got a pint of Gamma Ray and a Malaysian Curry (was more like a weak green curry but big portion).

Found a spot on the steps to sit down and eat. Finished beer and meandered back to north west lvl 5 and got a pint of Neck Oil... half the staff on the Tap In were struggling a bit with the bottom pour cups, the other half seemed to be fine... sure that’ll sort itself out with training.

Then found the Dispensery pub by block 505/506 and there was plenty room and a live band.

Half time, as it was a friendly, I left about 2 mins early and got a pint immediately at the Dispensery and a spot to put my pint down over looking the high street.

After the game I stayed until the end of the interviews and did exactly the same again.

Absolutely blown away by the quality of the ground, the finish, the attention to detail and the quality of what they serving. Once everything is ironed out it’ll be superb. Personally, I haven’t been to a better stadium experience.

i think the increased amount of people added to no extra transport is going to make most night games a ballache to get home from.
any saturday game, it will be a couple of beers and then on my way.
and they could do worse that Broadcast the 5.30 pm kick offs(assuming we are a 3pm) over the big screens (especially if you can take beer back to the seat without an actual match on) and throughout the stadium, it will just stagger the leaving times

it will be interesting to see if the cheaper beer makes the stadium gradually become the place for the pre match pint as well.

then once all the local pubs close down, they convert to flats (apparently its one of the easiest planning permissions to get) and the gentrification continues

both toilets on level 4 (I think) high road side of the south stand were flooded with sh*t all over the cubicle 5 minutes BEFORE half time...…

Olive pizzas need to speed up service and less lamb than last week....
chicken tikka pie was nice
Apart from that great

Once all the pubs around the ground have closed you can expect the cost of a pint in the stadium to go up to £6 :levywhoa:

I’ve got to say there is so much hysterics over leaving for a piss and beer etc at half time.......it’s a 15 minute break and 45 minute second half.
I always just sit in my seat, or stand and stretch my legs.
I’m never so desperate for a piss, pie or pint that I risk missing a goal. The match isn’t long enough for it to bother me about running around at half time....ultimately I’m there for the match, and I can eat, piss and drink afterwards.

You all sound like kids in the back seat of a car!

Was there last night. Went out on the lash after. Just woke up.

Absolutely amazing. Looking out from the train on the way up and seeing the place my jaw hit the floor.

Big issues with the beer as the pumps either fail or they run out. Queued for 20 minutes at one bar to only be told they had run out of drinks, asked them what they had, told soft drinks, went to a different bar and as we walked off they laughed at us (fucking kids)

That was my only gripe, everything else about the place is unreal

The Bricklayers was proper rocking after :tobyarm:

I probably shouldn’t share this as it’ll bite me in the arse... but there was zero queue to get on the free shuttle bus to Wood Green/Alexandra Palace.

Amazing day! Loved every moment.

As for leaving, the queues at White Hart Lane station were mega. Luckily my other half isn't adverse to using the fact she's 7 months pregnant where there are advantages to be gained and we jumped right to the front!

Also got to use the stadium lifts too which was a bonus for a chunk like me!

On my own Weds though so best get some exercise training in.

Great day yesterday. Unbelievable stadium. Went with my mate who’s a Northampton fan so was good to hear how good it is from a neutrals perspective.

But whilst it is a brilliant stadium, there are some definite teething problems that need addressing.

This week and last week I’ve tried to order a particular food item, only to be told they’d ran out. And both times more than an hour before kick off. Not good enough.

Last week I tried to order a Gamma Ray from the goal line bar only to be told they’d ran out. Seriously? Again, over an hour before kick off.

Also I’ve experienced quite a few sellers who just stand around staring into space when there are massive queues. Many also don’t seem to have mastered the new tills yet either.

If they want me to sack off the food options available outside the stadium and eat in the ground, they’re going to have to ensure all food options are available when I get in the ground. I wanted to try a pizza yesterday.... couldn’t get close to the place. My mate wanted pie and a pint that I’d told him about .... they’d ran out of pies. Tried to get a pint of neck oil ... soft drinks only.

We ended up getting fish and chips after a lot of walking about as the queue was tiny, which was bloody nice to be fair, but we were both quite irritated by this point.

I want to eat in the ground, but unless I can be sure of getting what I want, I’ll take my business elsewhere unfortunately.

Other than that, the stadium is truly a masterpiece. A whole new level and definitely the best I’ve ever seen. Poch has said it’s the best in the world .... I believe him.

Bit more feedback following a very early vendors conference call this morning: The take up on food and drink has been mind-blowing, to say that the come early - stay late strategy is working would be the understatement of the year.

To put this in perspective, Levy UK were in full arse covering mode this morning, they explained how they used all the old WHL data, and also all of the Spurs Wembley data, to predict sales volumes. And lets be fair Levy UK are no mugs in the catering world they do Chelsea, Leicester, O2, Wimbledon, Twickenham, etc. they know there stuff ... at least they thought they did.

In conjunction with the club, estimates on food and drink sales for a 62,000 EPL crowd had been discussed and agreed. Beer's best before date is not that much of an issue so that shouldn't run out, storage may well need to be expanded and that is possible, however perishable food won't last for two weeks between games, so order levels need to be close. How did that work out?

For the first test event with 29,000 planned they had the full 62,000 stock levels in place, they did this knowing that the legends game was just six days later so any left over food would keep. Shouldn't have worried they sold-out in nearly all the outlets that opened for that initial test game, it was their first lesson on Spurs fans capacity to eat and drink ... so for yesterday's test they increased stock levels to almost double the amount they had sold to 29,000 people ... so double the stock sold to 29,000 people to cater for 45,000 that should have been OK? it wasn't even close ... It seems give Spurs fans more and provided you keep them happy they will just eat and drink more.

So again yesterday the busy bars all sold out of several items as did many food outlets, the feedback this morning said that even though sales were nearly three times the anticipated amount for a 62,000 crowd and remember it was a good 15,000 less than that, with more stock available and better quality of service sales would have been considerably higher ...

Not only is this great news for the 'we're home feeling good factor' it's also going to be a huge money spinner for the club ... and Levy UK

On a more realistic note there were a lot of problems highlighted from yesterday, crowd movement, equipment issues, communication, lack off staff, all these areas suffered ... shouldn't impact our licence and should all be fixed in due course, realistically though there will be lessons learned for a few more games yet ... but the feedback so far was it's just feckin' fantastic

Levy UK committed to getting stock levels right and improving service levels, the club noted the universal positives the catering was receiving in the media, and expressed their thanks and full support to Levy UK to ensure this level continued.

A question was raised about the trade in local pubs and cafes ... anyone got any feedback on that?

FYI - My lad's team chaired the meeting hence the abundance of info

So, if my calculations are correct.

If it averages out that everybody spends £10 at a game on catering, that equals. (Going on a 60,000 attendence)

10 x 60,000 = 600,000

600,000 x 18 = 10,800,000

So, on League games only, that's nearly £11m a year extra revenue a season.
