Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don’t think anyone disagreed with the club signing players, it’s more about signings the right players. I’m sure there’s plenty we could have signed in the summer, but were they better than what we had?

This is obviously a difficult thing to work through. But it's also the bread-and-butter job of people in professional football, you don't just throw your hands up and do nothing because of uncertainty.

And Youri Tielemans or Jack Grealish definitely would have helped us on Tuesday when we desperately, desperately needed just one more guy in the middle of the park in one of the biggest games in the club's history.

We're too thin at a crucial moment. The transfer committee made a mistake. If you need to deny those things in order to feed some years-long message board meta-narrative, you need to pull yourself out of your own ass a little bit (not you specifically).

Btw, like I had to explain to Honest John Honest John yesterday; 2 trf windows = 1 season = 1 year.

I assume that's just an oversight on your part rather than you being a falsifying WUM like he.
Last signing January 18. Next signing July 19 (maybe)

Yeah, sorry boss. 12 months. What was I thinking

I think we should have signed both, don’t get me wrong. I’d love us to go and get both this summer. But it doesn’t just come down to they are available, let’s get them. There would have been reasons why we didn’t.

Sure, and we can only speculate.

But it's a fact that the club failed to anticipate the very foreseeable need for squad depth that has left us in such poor form during this critical stretch.

There is a player we could have signed for less money than missing the CL will cost us who could have assured us of top four. That should be a totally uncontroversial statement. And if the unfortunate comes to pass, that's just a business misstep by the club, period.

There are dozens of players from lesser teams that would walk into our team in PL alone.

You seem to massively overrate our squad that has at least 10+ players that wouldn't even make Leicester/Wolves/Everton bench.

Where do you think those 12 defeats came from??
