So outgoings I'd be open to-

Trippier - £25m
Aurier - £25m
Wanyama - who knows depending on his knee(s)
Dier - £40m
Nkoudou - shift him for whatever you can at this stage really
Lamela - £20m
Janssen - see Nkoudou
Carter-Vickers, Onomah & Edwards (£20m-£22m for the 3 academy products combined realistically)

10 players I'd be open to listen to offers for but remarkably based on last season and who played most in which position only 1 of these guys (Trippier) was a consistent starter for us.

A lot of fringe player changes but that's c£150m we have sitting around that we ain't getting much out of, only 1 of which who is seen as a regular starter now in our RB positions.

From that list personally I would move on Trippier, Wanyama, Nkoudou, Lamela, Janssen, CCV, Onomah & begrudingly Edwards witna biy back option. That's £85m-£90m worth of dough on hugely limited first team changes straight innyoyr back pocket to play around with.

That Aulas fellow is a clever bastard, giving DL the right runaround over Ndombele - fair enough he wants the best price, and fair enough he wants to line up Mendes (Lille) as a replacement - but now he's come out with a new twist .... Aulas wants us to drop out of the chase for Anderson (Sampdoria) so that Lyon can buy him. We have apparently got an agreement in place for Anderson should we lose Toby.

As I said sneaky fecker that Aulas

Sell us Ndombele for 60m - but Mendes and Anderson for 60m ... good bit of business if he pulls it off.

Calm down people.

Lessons have been learned, these things take time, there's no value in the market, we've been trying hard for our primary targets, we have to sell before we buy, have faith, we don't want to 'do a Leeds', the market isn't fluid at the moment and we're waiting for X Transfer to happen.

He's still a class act, personally if offered I'd rather Eriksen stay and sign a deal ahead of any new incomings. He had a less than average season for us but the guy still has class and isn't in his peak years yet, a summer off could really do him the World of good.

Eriksen re-sign
Ndombele
Lo Celso
RB
Sessegnon & Clarke

These are my prioities as I look at how things are shaping up. Replacing someone like Eriksen would be so incredibly difficult, I'm in the hope he stays camp & would probably sacrifice all other signings if it meant we got to do so. Controversial as we need reinforcements but Christian is the kind of class you don't want to see leave your club IMO
Personally I think spending the entire summer pandering to Eriksen and neglecting a replacement for Dembele and competition for both him and Dele would be a disaster.

I cannot bare the idea of watching that front three again playing every minute while Son and Moura face rotation and Winks is repeatedly hauled off and people who are shite in CM put there anyway just to keep them on the pitch.

We must have the slowest, most boring attack in the PL right now.

Fair point Sammy, we definitely do need freshening up in a few areas. I still feel Eriksen is a hugely important player to us that we'd struggle to replace though and his influence on our games, distance he constantly covers etc can't be overlooked.

I do make you right that Dele needs genuine competition (Lo Celso would really give us a different option and Dembele clearly needs replacing as does Wanyama sadly. It's tricky as I'd like to see Sessegnon come in, as well as Clarke but I'm not sure the club has the funds or the urgency to do so compared to other key areas that need a little TLC.

Sessegnon as a prospect at left back long term I can get on board with but if we look at those we are being most strongly linked with (Sessegnon £25m, Clarke £15m, Ndombele £65m, Lo Celso, £65m, Andersen £30m etc, that's £200m straight off the bat which we know we won't spend. That's even without a RB coming in).

Tough one to call but I do think making sure Eriksen stays, as long as he's committed is the bigger priority at the moment, closely followed by Ndombele and then the rest.

I can't get my head around the fact we never showed any interest in Wilmar Barrios for £13million.

The exact type of player we needed when Dembele left and we just stood back and said "No Thanks".

Whats the consensus on whether we'd rather Lo Celso or Bruno Fernandes?

playing for a team where thenopposition more often than not play a deep defensive line, I'd personally go for Lo Celso. Inget the feeling that with Fernandes he'd slap a fair few from long range as opposed to play the intricate way that usually opens those kind of teams up.

Lo Celso, £55m tops would be my perfect situation but I doubt we'll end up getting him as we need to spend big money on someone like Ndombele as well.

Have to disagree mate. Apart from his assist at the Etihad in 2015, has Lamela ever come on in a tight game and actually produced something constructive, apart from clattering into lads and getting booked?
If there is another example I'll gladly stand corrected.
Even when he came on against Ajax. There was about 10secs left & he tried dribbling the ball out from just outside our own area rather than just clearing it. He got tackled & gave them 1 last chance. I don't think he has a good footballing brain.

My point in using the term was to illustrate that as a cup it is commonly derided; reflecting a broader perception of said cup in the modern game when compring it to other more prestigeous honours. (If this wasn't entirely apparent, then I'll hold my hands up and own it....)

Alternatively, I'd say it was the second most prestigious cup victory of the 3 we've enjoyed since the trophies became scarcer in N17.

Tho again, I emphasise, I'm not looking to play anything down from my own FAN perspective (we're talking about PLAYER perception here remember!).
Which players perception are you talking about? Our players or players from the other 5 clubs? I think our players would love to win as most of them have won nothing in their career.
I've seen reports that a) Levy was pissed about CE going public with his desire to leave and b) that Levy wanted £140m i've not seen anything else of note.....

You've flipped from "we're not looking to sell", to "no-one wants to buy him", to "we'll only accept a cash only deal".

What reports are you talking about.. Hit re-set and go from there if you prefer.

I don't believe we're looking to sell but if a huge offer comes in we'll consider it for a player in the last year of his contract,I believe no one will buy him at the price set. Hope that's clear.
My main bone of contention here isn't so much seasons's performance as it is his head being elsewhere for the final... His comments and the timing of them back this up.
The fact that his form dipped noticeably last time there was a contract impasse bolsters such concerns further... Why wouldn't that be a factor all over again and in turn beg legitimate questions about his whole season?
It might be, it could be that playing in the world cup with no rest is a factor, could be his home life is a factor, I don't know but neither do you.

So you WE'RE the one that brought the analogy into play then?

Grrrreat.

Needless denial on your part then.
All I said was I'm not holding him to a different standard to others who work. You had already decided that you wouldn't accept my answer if it didn't align with your view. Another reason why your question was pointless.
"Keeps them speculating" meaning they'll speculate and print said speculations anyway, but gives them as little as possible.... You're also missing the point that we're comparing a man held-bent on succeeding with this team whilst being trolled by the press on a bi-weekly basis vs someone that in his OWN words fancies a "new challenge" (yet still could have delined to show his hand given how little good it stoood to do him).
Being trolled by the press isn't really an excuse to be unclear about his own future and that's what he's been with his comments, he's continued to diplomatically criticise the board in the press but that doesn't breach your code of conduct, but Eriksen comments does.
So now I have an agenda against CE specifically???? ....Now you're just being silly!!!

I've already reference myself being pissed at Rose (and in other discussions, Defoe) for similar in the past.

Look at it this way. CE may have enjoyed a little more benefit of the doubt from me post CL final for his performance levels over the past season if he HADN'T spoken out in the manner and timing that he did..... It's not like I'd been calling him out for having an outright shite season before the CL final came around..... He's fed my suspicions and I'm far from the only one on this front.
Not really, in response to me pointing out that he has 10 goals and 12 assists which makes him the 4th highest scorer at the club you said
'Pardon me for not getting too excited....' and

'Hardly a shop window season.' There is no one who has more assists than Eriksen, the closest is Son with 6 assists. So he's got 6 more assists than the second place guy. But hey hardly a shop window season right? Yet you've presented a list of wealthy clubs that allegedly want to pay top dollar for his services.

With all that and you singling him out for the CL defeat, it's perfectly reasonable that I should think you have an agenda against him.

Pretty annoying we haven't signed anyone yet. I think we need, at a minimum:

Ndombele
another attacking midfielder (Lo Celso?)
Right Wing-Back
Left Wing-Back (Sessegnon?)

If we can get 3 out of the 4 of those, I'll be reasonably happy.

Have a word with yourself mate
