You also bottled my question... If Poch is the one constipating our recruitment process, do we sack him?

Son wasn't not included on my list if that's what's you're referring to, he was a part of my first XI that was signed for the £75m highlighted.

He was also signed prior to getting his move to a big club which is something I'm a huge advocate of. This is something I want to see more of and for me a club like Leverkusen is ideal as a hunting ground. Son has been twice as influential to date as Sanchez for example has been yet he was nearly half of the cost. We need more signings like him and we need less £70m or no signing situations like I fear our gaffer is leaning towards. Our scouting department or the processes really need improving, it's the weakest area of our football club if you ask me.

What are you talking about? Good PL players have a premium and that is that. If you don't know the game don't play it.
Levy and the club should trust Poch to identify the players just like Mancity, Liverpool, Madrid, Barca, Juve....etc trust their managers. Money buys success in the EPL is a proven fact. Leicester was an exception and won't happen again for another century.

You are either naive or you are naive. Man city , chelsea and manu (excludin Leicester) are the only winners of EPL title in the last 15 years. Question for : Why?
One last question for you: How come man city won the PL title 4 times in the last 7 seasons??
 
Just reading todays papers ( old school ) and see that Shity are not only spending 60 million on a midfielder they don’t need but also buying Maguire for an 80 million world record fee. Assuming these deals come true how on earth do you compete with a whole country bankrolling a team ?

You have completely avoided my question mate. My question to you is that if Pochettino wants Lo Celso & Ndombele and sees them as key signings why should Levy not question why they weren't wanted at the price of £32m combined and not at the rumoured combined fee of £140m?

If you're saying the club should trust Pochettino's judgement then equally the club should be allowed to ask where that player judgement was a year or two ago when both of these players we're not seen as worth pursuing. The club has every right to ask that question be it to Pochettino, the scouting department etc. Levy is being asked to spend over £100m that didn't need to be spent should these players have been highlighted earlier. That's completely justified even if he does choose to back the manager and bring both in.

You don’t, but football in the PL is corrupt, how else would you get a gangster at Chelsea and a slave state at City owning clubs and deemed fit and proper.

You only have to look at Pep’s angry reaction when questioned about the owners to see the bullshit. City, Pep, Chelsea, Abramovich, the whole thing is a fraud and somehow we have to find a way to compete with that.

Your arguments are based on tweets, rumours and media rubbish while my arguments are based on historical facts and nothing else.

Questions for you?
1. How do you know Poch wants to buy Lo Celso and Ndombele?
2. How do you know whether Poch believes a player is worth a certain value? Is that his job!
3. Do you really know how spending, targets and purchases are conducted within the THFC hierarchy?

They need that midfielder. Fernandinho is 34 and they looked half the team without him.

Maguire is crazy money for an average cb.

Son is our joint 4th biggest signing, 27 million, same as Lamela , was signed by Levurkuson for under a 1/3 of that a couple years before, isn't that your argument in the Ndombele transfer? why didn't we sign Son from Hamburg for 7 or 8 million ?
Our scouting can be improved, but it's harsh to simply say we should find all the top players before anyone else knows about them, if it was that simple every club would do it.

And to answer your question, the reason why Man City have won the PL 4 timeim the last 6 years is because they have owners who have so much money that they don't need business acumen. They have given Man City over £1.2bn to get to where they are, that is a hugely rare thing to occur and skews realistic methods and ways 99.99% clubs in football need to adhere to.

The fact of the matter is our clubs business model is closer to that of the Boltons, Coventry's and Leeds Uniteds of this world (Woolwich as well sadly) than it is to that of the PSGs, Man City's etc. We spend within our means and that's how football should be but unfortunately isn't due to the greed within the game. We are one of the very few clubs with no over inflated value or in the pockets of our owners. We are a hugely self sufficient football club who rely on skill from top to bottom more than reckless spending. We should be proud of that although very few seem to be. What happens when Abramovic decides to sell up at Chelsea? Do you think he will write of £1bn of money loaned and owed to him or expect it back? Short term solutions usually lead to long term problems mate, hence why Levy is right to manage our finances accordingly.

Lo Celso is Argentinian, so I fully believe Poch wants him on that alone.

I don't think Spurs managers have much involvement over transfer valuations and fees other than giving names and probably a rating of importance / relative value against overall budget. Football men for the football stuff, business men for the money stuff. Sounds reasonable.

Pretty sure some ex Spurs managers that have served under Levy have suggested they give names and have little or no involvement over the finances. Perhaps Poch does have a different role compared with others.. but I doubt it really.

Not sure I would call him average, great in the air, very good on the ground, positionally clever, does lack a bit of pace though but one of the better CB’s in the prem.

Agree on Fernandinho he is class and they need to replace/cover him due to aging.

We beat them in the Champions league.

How to beat them consistently and rise above them in the Prem? We have to buy and buy bloody well, not just the first team but our youth set up and scouting. It would be fantastic if we could identify good young players earlier than we have done. De Jong and Ndombele both were available for far far less 2 years ago than what they cost now. Yes, it wouldn't be easy but Ajax and Lyon saw something in them and took their chance. I think it's through the academy and the purchase of bright young talent is the only way we could compete with City and the rest in the decades to come if we continue our current model. The best team is not necessarily the most expensive.

I also believe the manager needs to learn some lessons from past mistakes. Playing out of form players and starting games with the wrong set up has cost us.
