Leonardo has officially abandoned signing Matthjis De Ligt for PSG, as he’s unconvinced by the Dutchman’s desire to fight for the project, according to @SoccerLink_.

Breaking | Juventus have agreed personal terms with Matthijs de Ligt on a five-year contract worth €12 million a season (bonuses included). Ajax are now asking for at least a €75 million fee, which is what PSG offered, according to @DiMarzio.

Chelsea are expected to complete the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic for £40m despite being under a two-window transfer ban.

Kovacic spent last season on loan at Stamford Bridge, so Chelsea have already registered him.

It means, providing the deal is done before the loan expires on 30 June, it would not require another registration.

Chelsea will definitely have one new arrival next season as Christian Pulisic, currently on international duty with the USA at the Concacaf Gold Cup, has completed his six month loan at Borussia Dortmund after signing for the Blues in January.

Norwich and Celtic were both willing to pay about £3.5M plus for David Turnbull at Motherwell, he seemed all set for Celtic then rejected their offer and looked to be ready to sign for Norwich, another U turn and he wanted to go to Celtic instead.
Medical turns up a tear in his medial ligament, Motherwell not willing to accept staggered payments from Celtic if they still went ahead and signed him with a view to how many games he played after his operation and rehab.
Celtic now pulled the plug.
Poor lad must be feeling a bit dizzy after all that.

A Scottish Nabil Fekir situation if you will.

Just cos they can, not cos he was particularly any good... They already paid a hefty loan fee on him.. Why on earth would they actively seek out that player at a combined £50m+? ....Purely cos of the ban.

Imagine being Danny Drinkwater.... 12 appearance since 2017. Doh!

Schalke sporting director Jochen Schneider has confirmed that both Nabil Bentaleb and Yevhen Konoplyanka are available to leave the club.

“We’ve spoken with Hamza Mendyl and have decided that he will look for a new challenge. The same goes for Nabil Bentaleb and Yevhen Konoplyanka,” said Schneider.

Was there supposed Spurs interest in Konoplyanka a couple of years ago?

“His departure won’t happen for no matter what price… He is allowed to leave… He only has one year left on his contract. He has not got the same price as Tanguy (Ndombele), who has another 4 years of contract… We have discussions at the moment that are not concrete enough to bring them up. There are discussions with people who are not in a hurry to negotiate because they want to get a good deal. But we don’t need money. And we want to keep him if we don’t find a replacement for him.”

Neymar has always disappointed me, maybe the weight of expectation but when £200-250m get banded about it does seem even in this market a bit extreme.

Used to constantly get him & Yarmalenko mixed up as they were both names always thrown about by our fans... Now the hype train has slowed down and not been lived up to, I could see West Ham over-paying for Konoplyanka in due course too.

If all goes well this is a big hit.
