Modric voted worst signing in La Liga

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I can, and I do.

The fact all this shit started when a someone who wasn't his agent decided he could make some money by getting involved in something that wasn't his business and convinced Luka to act like a cunt all for the sake of money...not for football.

This has little to do with playing for a top team or in the CL, it was all about money. Well, Modric bought the dream and Kia Joorabchian has got his money. As for Luka...well, we assume he gets his, but regular CL football is apparently what he wanted, and he hasn't even got that.

Fair enough. For me, there are far greater evils in the world and far worse things that are actually worth being bitter about for months. We got a world class player for many seasons at a decent price and on relatively low wages. Sure, he has a challenge to become a regular at RM. But this is simply his job, and working at a different organisation, with a world class reputation, with better money and the chance to test himself in one of the most demanding arenas is something I would respect and understand in any field.

Tottenham just pip Woolwich in public vote to title of club selling worst player to La Liga in 2012

The Spanish football loving public have voted former Tottenham Hotspur star Luca Modric as the worst La Liga signing of 2012. The Real Madrid midfielder received a huge 32.2% of the votes in a poll conducted by newspaper Marca and was closely followed by ex Woolwich player Alex Song.
Modric has struggled to fit in to the Real Madrid team since his switch in the summer transfer window and to date has only scored one goal in nineteen appearances. In total he has only completed 717 minutes of the 1530 minutes in the league since his arrival as questions about his fitness have come to light. Jose Mourinho has already gone on record to raise concerns about the midfielder’s physical condition since he signed from the Premier League club.
Modric’s poor run of form has coincided with Real Madrid’s dismal period in the league, in which they are 16 points behind leaders Barcelona. The La Liga holders currently lie in third position, seven points behind local rivals Atletico Madrid. The club have managed to make it through to the next stages of the Champions League but face a tough task against Premier League leaders Manchester United with the tie now crucial to Real Madrid’s whole season and Jose Mourinho's future.
Modric left in controversy after demanding a move from the club last summer and his failings will give pleasure to some Tottenham Hotspur fans. Marca, the magazine to give him this unwanted title, played a big part in unsettling Modric and could be accused of starting to do similar with Gareth Bale.
North London rivals Woolwich will also take some twisted pleasure in the fact that Alex Song came second in the poll after he left to join Barcelona for €19m in the last transfer window. The former Woolwich man was brought in as utility play to cover midfield and defence but he has hardly figured. Despite injures in defence throughout the first half of the season the Cameroon international hasn’t been used much by manager Tito Vilanova.
That the two signings from the Premier League have been voted the worst of the year in Spain won't do much to improve the reputation of English football in Spain. However, Modric was arguably not what Real Madrid needed and that perhaps has more to do with supporters feeling let down.

Would've been much more pissed off if he'd left for anyone else in the PL. Tired of talking about it. I don't watch Real Madrid or La Liga for that matter, don't really care. Let's keep moving.

Only player that's left for another club in recent seasons I really miss is Rafa, but even he had his weak points.

Agree with Thelonious Thelonious , we need to stay focused on what we've got, not what could've been.

gotta admit this made me chuckle

Mourinho is making him shit on purpose. So that he can sign him cheaply, when Ferguson moves upstairs and he takes over from him in the summer.

His sale has resulted in a deeper team that will be better rested in the last half. And possibly result in more interesting games in other competitions. Did enjoy watching the little rat though...

Belgium play Croatia and a benched , depressed Luka is good news for us. I dont want him back , our midfield is solid and very strong atm , physical presence, distance shots and some swag to complete the package.

Maybe QPR could offer Real a loan deal

That the article makes a big deal out of him only scoring 1 goal in 19 appearances makes me think that the Spanish press (along with most of the English press) don't understand what Modric is all about.

Think that as a footballer you've got to back yourself to be the best - and yes, that means being confident that you'll dislodge Xabi Alonso if you're played once. And if you don't do it then, then you'll do it the next time.

Have to say that prior to their €300M splurge, I didn't understand why RM were such a huge club.

Because they're the most successful club in Spain?
