The deal seems to be £30,000,.000 for Aarons but he stays at Norwich until the summer.
He knows PL and could play instantly in starting 11, that's worth about 10m in our situation. And Upamecano > Kulibaly for me, but apparently half of Europe is chasing him at this moment which inflates the price horribly. I still think that with so technically weak players and midfield that can't hold on to a ball every defense is gonna struggle. Toby and Jan were the best CB pair when we had Wanyama + Dembele, so I'd prefer to spend money at midfield, as we are probably not splashing 100m in this window.

No, not in the least.

We have a fucking shambolic scouting network. There has to be a sea of talented, experienced players across Europe in the 22-25 age bracket that could come in and improve our team.

We seem utterly incapable of locating them.
It’s either that, or we don’t do anything once we’ve found them. There’s going to be a huge pool of players that I’m sure 30+ teams are aware of. It’s just who pays the money for them. Liverpool have just bought a “Chadli” for next to nothing, who they will make money on.

I could get you a viable list in one day. There are people at our club stealing a living. I recall banging on about Teilemans when he was at Anderlecht then struggling at Monaco. I was doing the Same about Benjamin heinrichs. I dont know how they are getting away with it

I get all these "buys for the future" but am i the only one sick of it? I want a buy that makes a difference now.
Fed up of us buying players, then forgetting what they look like

FWIW i don't think we will buying anyone in this window.

Who are these players? I thought we had a brilliant summer signing two world class players in Ndombele and Lo Celso. At this point I'm truly concerned about their future with us

Spot on. A lot of the blame when it comes to our past transfers is put on Poch and Levy (who have their share of the blame nonetheless), yet our diabolical scouting network barely gets a mention.

Norwich fans seem to think Cantwell has a higher ceiling than Maddison. They ought to know more than us considering they had Maddison and now have Cantwell.

I would agree with that. Cantwell looks very exciting. But please, a DM!
Dude my English 2nd cousins are season ticket holders and live in Caister St Edmund.
They think he is good but no where the level of Madison. Very hit and miss but love him as he is a local Dereham bro.
We are full of prospects that need years to fulfill any potential and this will be another.

Calm down.

It was perfectly logical to loan him back to his former club; under a manager Poch trusted to develope him 'properly'.

It's more than possible that Leeds cooled on him after the deal was done.....

Explain to me how he was being developed "properly"?

If not playing first team football is being developed then why send him back, and if Leeds cooled on him as you say then we should have brought him back to train with better players.

Common sense for anyone to see.

I'd be tempted to start looking in Holland, then again what the fuck do i know about football. It seems that all of our scouts are based in Paris.

Too true.

What we don't know, of course, is if it's simply a lack of scouting or that we struggle to get deals done, once located. Probably a toxic combination of the two.

I'd happily see us install a Director of Football. I appreciate that causes issues with certain managers, but at the moment Levy seems to be operating as one anyway. Perhaps that's the long term goal with all the Lille links.

Kane out for a undetermined time period.

Do we sign a striker (Cavani has 6 months left for example) or do we go for a winger and push Son or Moura up front with Troy on the bench?
