I don't think Soumare is what we should be going for. He is a CM masquerading as a DM. His skill set is more in line with a Winks or Ndombele than a Wanyama or Ndidi.

Lille are also quoted as wanting 50+ mil for him.

I would rather see us go for an actual DM than a converted central midfielder that doesn't tackle as much as his new position requires.

Some part of me believes that Campos will only sell him to us if he deems it a good deal for us too.

Since he might join is later anyway.

If we wouldn’t already have Ndombele in the squad, it would be a no brainer (for the right price)

Get a DM now and #swoop for him in the summer if he's that good.

He's having 'issues' at Schalke as well. There might be something wrong 'up top' there. But coming 'home' can help those matters. He would be cheap (like Schalke might even pay us to take him), HG, and potentially useful. Would have to be a pay to play situation but CP is also interested.
