TAA at Liverpool was a decent but not world class midfielder at Liverpool (less highly rated than say KWP by England youth coaches) but due to injuries to Nathan Clyne, Joe Gomez etc was tried out at RB and flourished. Big slice of luck for TAA, whilst Clyne has never recovered
Sorry mate, but this isn't true about TAA, he has played RB since U16 and he was very highly rated by England coaches (he scored 6 goals in 10 games from RB for the England U19s) and I dont know how you could possibly compare who was more highly rated by national youth coaches when they played different age groups.

What the new stadium will get us is world record profits on a continued annual basis the record is subject to pot luck and whatever the manager can achieve with restrictions.
I just cannot see Jose sticking it out here especially after now seeing what we are all about, one month to get a striker in and yet we spend the last two days sniffing around a 33 year old from Chelsea that just seems laughable from the 8th richest club in the world this just sums us up.
So now it's make do time again trying to negotiate our way through the CL, FA cup and finish as high as we can without a recognised striker but instead use son and moura both of whom at the moment are struggling to hit a barn door.
Nevertheless on a plus note both rose and eriksen are gone so that should help with a better vibe around the club along with sending people out on loan which helps reduce the wage bill.

I’d have to say this was a decent window for us overall, even if it doesn’t instantly help us for the remainder of this season.

GLC, Fernandes, Bergwijn in.

Rose, Eriksen Out

With Hugo back, Tanganga coming thru, the above players, and hopefully a run of games from Tanguy, it feels like a fresher feel.

we haven’t panicked bought a nobody up front for £30m.

Obviously still have plenty of issues to sort, but look at this market, it was never all going to happen in this window.

Bit worried we got the wrong Fernandes but I guess we made our choice in the summer and prioritised GLC.

Chelski didn’t strengthen, United, Wolves and Us did business, so I think the top 4 race may still have legs.

Its not the way Jose wants/will play he wants a big strong striker who can hold up/head/battle for the ball, Son can't do that he's not in him (same as Eriksen) that's way Lucas plays there he will try to do those things
Son at the moment is off form so is moura both of them are struggling in front of goal and then just wait until son gets injured we will have no one :levylol: :mourglasses:

Well we are struggling to score and can't keep clean sheets so I don't think the top four race has any legs.

If this was the plan then not signing a striker wouldn’t have been so bad, I just get the feeling Jose won’t throw him out there with such expectations while Kane is out injured

Jose says unfair for Troy to be expected to fill Harry’s boots. True and fair.

But being on the bench and having 20mins here and there is not filling Harry’s boots! So I’ve been a bit disappointed that he’s not had a look. Surely has to be in the 18 Wednesday!! I’d like to see him start....

I would have put money on Levy ensuring Mourinho was provided with a striker of some quality.

It's an insult to Mourinho, an insult to fans and regardless of there being a lack of top notch quality, another reason to give credence to question Levy and Enic.

From the moment and even before Kane got injured in 2018 against City I have bemoaned the lack of a good second option (Llorente was okay but.....)

And now 21 months on no Kane again. And no physical option whatsoever or height in our attack. It is an absolute disgrace.

Yes, I would have preferred a striker but I’m not exactly crying about the strikers we didn’t sign. I also wanted a CDM, but if the right target wasn’t available yet then I’m happy to wait until the summer. Most people (myself included) don’t believe we will get top 4 anyway, let’s put Son up top and see what happens. Occasionally give some minutes to Parrott (he isn’t ready, but a few sub appearances should help him). Spurs have shown now we are willing to spend some money and do business for the right targets, I have no doubts that we will sign players in key positions this summer.
I love your optimism but that will not happen, there is no previous evidence for that to happen under these parasites

Harry Kane would not have had the opportunity to develop into the player he has become if it wasn't for first team football. I would like to see Troy P get more game time and I don't expect him to be an instant replacement for Kane but, if he's ever going to be of use to us, he's got to learn how to play alongside Son, Moura, Alli and co and I would rather give a young player a chance than play an established player out of position.

Personally, I think this has been an appalling window for us. Not only have we failed to find replacements but lost an attacking midfielder and a left-back into the bargain. Yes, we've gained a promising winger but that's not exactly a position we were lacking in. Whenever the media talks about us resigning Gareth Bale, you can be sure that neither Levy, the coach or whatever Director of Football they've appointed have a clue about who to sign.

GLC, really?
It's just common sense to pay for him now rather than the summer.
We did panic but there wasn't 30 million available to pay for anyone. Chasing after Giroud on the last day really says everything.

Whilst I agree with what you are saying. Getting rid of Rose and Eriksen will have some benefit. GLC and Ndombele can now step up without his shadow lurking.

Its also better to wait 5 months and get better players than piss our money up the wall on crap.

Son can do a job up top now we have Bergwijn to play on the left.

We are just gong to have to make do and hope for a top 6. A great summer. The a real go at winning the wafa cup and regaining our CL place.

Yes all we can do is wait

What way does José play exactly? Do you think if he went to City he wouldn’t play Aguero because he is small and doesn’t hold up the ball well. Son is actually quite tall and is strong on the ball - we have Bergwin so we are sacrificing the pace on the wings by moving him centre.
