Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Until such time as Levy steps back from negotiating transfers, it barely matters what sort of talent exists in our recruitment department. You don't get that kind of palaver at Liverpool, where Michael Edwards goes about his business very smoothly.

Come on Five, we can and have both marvelled at Liverpool's recruitment apparatus, and if there's something to muller Levy for it's not having that, but Liverpool have failed to haggle negotiate two of their first choice targets already this summer in Werner (who Klopp was absolutely gagging for) and Lewis. And they've done this before Fekir/Shakiri eg (and there have been a few others). Negotiating is negotiating and that goes for fucking everyone, they're all doing it.

Kick the shit out of Levy for having pissed away the blokes that are currently doing the recruitment analytics for Liverpool, and for not replacing them with something tangibly comparable, and for seemingly replacing Steve Hitchin with Stevie Wonder recently as head scout, but the whole "Levy negotiating is the whole issue" thing is a bit of a red herring - it's what he's negotiating for that's the big problem, not that he's negotiating.

Pleeeeeeeease Daddy Daniel.
:avbpray:

In all seriousness, let's say we got almost all our cash back for Ndombele... put it straight into Van de Beek?
Ndombele out and VDB in, does it make us better/does the midfield work?

He wasn’t a liability for PSG against a Bayern in the CL final.
He is a very good defender, capable of playing well against any team. My point is about consistency. It's not one game - he would be at the heart of Chelsea's defence for a whole season. Playing in France is easier than playing in the Premier League - especially when you play for PSG. And he is not getting any younger.

I hope it happens.

Not if he replaces Tanguy :allitongue:
For real though, is Dele still a regular starter when the season begins ?
Can't shake the feeling that this season is gonna go one of two ways for Dele:

1. Properly shake off those injuries and become the player he was meant to be (i.e. not his brother).

2. Not kick on and serious questions raised about his future at the club next summer.

It's weird, he still manages to put up decent goal/assist numbers even while we as fans are frustrated with the way he's playing on the pitch.

It's only one match, and against poor opposition, but our friendly this weekend did get me a little bit excited - he looked very very up for it and was focusing on being the creator (to good effect). It's clear Mourinho loves him so if he can't make it work this season then when will he?

I really hope he can stay fit, find some form, and really nail down a role in the side. He’s never gonna be immune from criticism because his style of play is high risk/reward. When it works it’s very profitable,’when it doesn’t he’ll still get flak.

I suppose Dele's style of chance creation is more suited to a Mourinho system that prioritises riskier passes over endless possession and recycling the ball.

My press friend recons the player shown round our training ground a couple of weeks ago was Danny Ings.

It was the same day PEH was there for photos. Both Saints players; so maybe something in it.

I wonder if Danny Rose would like a seaside home?

Why would Wolves sell Doherty though? And why would he want to leave?

I can't see Leicester selling Ndidi either especially after getting a big fee for Chilwell.
I can't answer any of those. But a lot of stranger things had happened. Who are we to understand any clubs and players motivation. Although Wolves is on the verge of signing Maitland-Niles from Woolwich.
Again, i've heard he is most potent from midfield, but has exclusively been playing RB for Woolwich.
Maybe Espirito Santo needs some fresh face to get a new atmosphere, maybe he wants to have a younger squad.

I also can't see Leicester selling Ndidi. The chance of this happening is significantly under the Doherty one. Unless the players is pushing for a move. I'm just saying, he is most welcome.

Dele gets the same criticism that Berbatov got for being 'lazy' without seeing that these players on their own wont lift the team up , but in the right system they are genuine matchwinners

He is approaching his peak years as a player and with the Mourinho rebuild he will be a crucial element to the team winning anything
