Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Another slightly depressing gossip column from the BBC site.
Teams mentioned. Chelsea, Utd, Woolwich, Everton, Newcastle, Palace, Fulham, Villa, Leeds, W. Brom, Leicester, Southampton. That's 12 teams. Add Liverpool and City =14. Only 6 teams not showing a lot of interest today. Not a lot to say really.

Oh noooo, today Sun, Daily Mail and other shit-papers that BBC lists on their gossip page have not had time to draw some shit about Spurs out of thin air today. What a dissapointment. We have failed as a club. Levy should resign and all of the backroom staff has to be laid off like right now.

No made up gossip about us for whole day and other teams are MENTIONED!! can you imagine, they are MENTIONED!! Who wouldn't trade places immidiately with Leicester?!? In gossip column it is mentioned that Vardy will prolong the contract and their scouts are following 17yo lad from Scotland. Can you even IMAGINE how much stronger they automatically are because of such immense steps forward. And even Fulham will without a doubt finish ahead of us - I mean it's clear - after all they were mentioned in gossip column because they dropped out of race for one Championship player and are trying to sign another Championship player.

Losing to Bayern 2:7 is nothing compared to this mess! Cannot believe it has happened.
Come on guys, now or never, let's all camp out at NWHL, someone has to pay for this!!!

If true, then the Levy brinkmanship fails again, well done Danny boy.:dembelefingers:

C’mon that's a bit of a stretch in this case when they've been reported as both a) offering 9m which is piss poor and b) them being skint.... Ball is in their court not ours.

....Besides, you watch; i bet AC still go on to buy players this window.

We've a replacement to buy; why would we virtually give him away? We're not dripping with cash ourselves....

On the flipside, People pissed and moaned about how cheap we let Trippier go for last summer....

Other clubs need to be realistic as well though. Aurier, as catastrophic as he can be, is a very experienced right back who has won multiple league titles, Champions League experience and played at the top level. With 2 years left on his deal we are in our rights to ask for £20-23m.

But no one else wants him.

We can ask what we want, but without competition for his signature, you have to take what’s offered.

Or not take it and accept, once again, that our manager will have to stick with a player he does not want.

Leverkusen (and someone else earlier in the window) have also been linked.....

You don't have to take what's offered. That's a terrible business to get into.

We have clubs fighting for his signature. Both Milan and Leverkusen want him. Milan will play the game of 'walk away and wait for Spurs to come back', a trick Levy often uses. But if Leverkusen have a bid accepted, Milan will no doubt match it.

If you were selling your car, and you've been told its worth £5k, but only one person is interested and bids £2k, do you sell because it's the only offer?

Depends how much you want the new car which you'll be buying afterwards.

I'm not an especially vocal critic of Levy and ENIC. I also think Levy is more than happy to spend money and invest. My only gripe is his interminable constipation when it comes to selling our players and turning the squad over. He obviously *hates* taking a hit on anything (which is why we won't be selling Ndombele), but football doesn't provide that sort of framework. It's a genuine trading floor and your players are worth whatever someone offers. We can claim he's worth whatever we want, but if he genuinely *was*, we'd have more suitors on our hands, offering closer to the price.

Who knows, maybe he'll go. But if not, we'll have a RB that our manager doesn't really rate, who wanted to leave the club, running down his contract and going for even less next year (or maybe even deciding to sit out for a free).

What price do you put on that situation? Would it be better for the club to take a perceived hit of 5 million now, or deal with that shitshow for the next two years?

But as said there are other suitors (if any of the trf bs is worth believing)....

If you buy badly then you sell badly.
