Jimenez? No chance... Wolves only sell him for 60 or 70 millions.

Vinicius, Benfica want 45 millions..

Our budget fora striker is more and less 20M. Levy will not spend more than this.

I think Joshua King is a decent óption. Good back up and a fair price...
If Kane was out for three months again, do you really see King leading the line? He’s alright, but not what Jose really wants in a centre forward. He was very clear on Friday, he’s not looking for a back-up, he’s looking for someone to compete with Kane.

I've never read anyone grumbling about the notion of spending money on players, I've only ever read people grumbling about the players we are spending that money on or rationalising why we spend different amounts at different times. That's not changing their minds, that's called applying rationale to match circumstances (ie the fluctuation in revenues/profits).

Some of the people that can rationalise why a business has different expenditure budgets in different years, due to fluctuation in revenues and profits (due to things like not having/not having CL revenue, building a stadium that adds revenue but also debt to be serviced, COVID etc) also criticise ENIC/Levy for what they do with that money.
Well you have missed a lot of posts then. Waste of time spending money apparently. Doesn't have anything to do with success I'll have you know!
I'd understand if they had said waste of time spending money as we usually buy poorly or well we can't really afford it etc. But no, it's a waste of time team's like Chelsea & city spending big. As though they became winners without any financial advantage helping .

Also I notice you don't want to talk about some of those voices doing a 180 on there view of jose? Its things like that which shows the character of the people I am talking about. They base their opinions on what the club do & even do 180s to match the club.
Suprised you actually don't think anyone does that!

It's like people said it would be wrong & a mistake if we signed nobody. Then we didn't, they said thats all cool. I guess you didn't read those posts either

Any defence for jose 180s when we appointed him? What's wrong with sticking with their opinion that he is a dinosaur & saying I think jose is a dinosaur cheque book manager but I can see why the club hired him as he gets you trophies & has an amazing record of success. Rather than pretending you don't think he is a cheque book dinosaur. Why lie to yourself about it. I don't get it. But we are all different.
Its like if we give a blatant pen away, I won't lie to myself & say it wasn't. But plenty of fans of all clubs do. I know its cause they are biased but if you know your lying to yourself hmm.

Anyway, seems like you think no one changes their mind & matches it up with what the club do. Where as I & many other's do. We have seen it in back & white. We ain't changing each others mind. So I don't think we are going to get anywhere with this one.

Still a lot of striker options that might be possible - my top half dozen based upon 'not a lot' and in no order :

King
Diallo
Vinicius
Jiminez (As Mendes is Vinicius agent he might go to Wolves giving Mendes a 2nd commission by moving Jiminez to us ?)
Edouard
Milik

So.....as clear as mud who to expect ?
King a maybe if we can push Bournemouth under 20 million. Wilson went for 20, Levy won't pay that for him.
Diallo, fits the budget not sure about everything else.
Jiminez, Wolves don't want to sell and he would cost big money.
Edouard, too expensive, valued at 40 mil.
Milik again too expensive has 1 year left on his contract.

kinda negates the first part of that sentence. I think we'll get Milik for around 18-20M

Bale. Quite simple really(although not simple at all). Good news is that the deal is there to be done, and all 3 parties are happy for it to happen.

The problem is it's still an unprecedented amount of money for DL. As I've said recently Levy likes to balance the books in as many ways as he can, and with this it just isn't possible. This is a huge gamble financially in a time where money is at its most uncertain. On the plus side it's been Levy all the way driving this, and he must have known from the outset that is the case, and he's persued it anyway. That gives me hope he will pull the trigger.

It's now a case imo of heart or head, for DL. Can he justify the obscene expenditure in uncertain times, I mean he's not pushed the boat out when we've had spare cash, so will he do it now when we don't.

I think right now this could go either way and if we decide to do it, it will happen quickly.

I will say it's a deal just for us. Should we not do it, other clubs will not get the same terms(as things stand) so not as easy to get gazumped at this point in time.

JJ spot on all down to Levy, but knowing a lot of the financials I could totally understand if we don't get this over the line.

What a crock of shite.

How that idiot is taken seriously is totally beyond me.

There are cheaper low risk managers who can get us 5th or 6th. So in that sense he would have failed if he doesn't get top 4 or a cup this season. But in terms of the tools all the managers in the premiership have, I'd say 5th or 6th is par & not a failure.
Agreed on both points.
I guess with levy/Enic you have to get under par & over achieve to get cups & constant top 4 finishes.
Yup, and when surprise becomes expectation yet the manager is still consistently left short it ultimately becomes the managers fault in someway, somehow. We've just seen it and we will see it again with Mou if he gets us over-performing our financial inputs. We shouldn't expect more as that would be lunacy. But it could be done more effectively and efficiently but that would be a blindspot of our dear leader.
