Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

As I said previously. There is definitely something going on behind the scenes . We have gone from having to sell to buy ...now we have splashed out on a full back and Bale. Now a bid goes in for Danny Ings.
To get him it would have to be circa 50m as Soton don’t need to sel.
Levy reportedly in a behind closed door meeting yesterday.
Employing Dennis Birch to take over some parts of Levy’s job. Jonathan Turner now on the board, he is a specialist in mergers and acquisitions.
Joe selling some of his stake.?
Got to be Amazon involved or certainly USA interest.

Don't agree.

We had (and do still) need to sell to create spaces for players to be registered in the squad, and in turn that has generated some funds to buy players.

Moneywise, right at the start of this TW I suggested we would spend maybe a net £50m (about 40% of what we spent last summer) on the basis that we certainly made money last season up until March - but since then of course there has been almost no revenue generation from either football matches or the many non football revenue streams (non football events, exhibitions and conference business etc) whilst much of the cost base has remained intact, hence much less than last summer might be available.

So far we have spent probably that £50m on fees for the 5 players coming in so far (Hojbjerg, Doherty, Hart Bale and Reguilon with KWP going the other way) but doesn't surprise me that DL has found a bit more money for one to three extra players (most likely one or two ?).

And the money required for players doesn't require the sort of money which selling parts of Spurs might generate (eg selling 10% of Spurs valued at £1.5 bn would generate £150m......and I very much doubt we are spending £150m from now until end of TW !)

More than likely that we are spening more this summer, but next summer's transfer dealings wil be less than it might have been.

I think he would at least seriously consider it if he thinks about working with people like Bale, Kane, Mourinho etc, the stadium, European football, at least a chance of winning something.. On the other hand if he wants to play every week he should stay where he is. He is their best player and I think he would be too expensive this summer, but who knows..

Danny has been already on the books of a VERY BIG top 6 club, indeed the PL champions no less but it didn't suit him to be on their bench so he left. Not many people would have had the strength of character to do that. I doubt he would even contemplate leaving us to join a second rate outfit like Spurs after his top level exposure and experiences. He seems very hungry for week-in week-out football not just the odd cameo at the whim of a half-crazed crackpot manager.”

Saints web don’t think so 😂😂😂
Deluded cunts. If Spurs really wanted Ings, he leaves you’re Tin pot club, end of story.

May be wrong of course, but I'm not usually.
How modest.
That would obviously have had to be put to Harry Kane and his agent for their approval. Can't really see Harry agreeing to anything about leaving Spurs just yet, even if it does involve Real Madrid. I'd imagine he'd first want to have a good chat with Gareth about life with Zidane and the rest of the squad over in Spain.

Just putting it out there, do we need a striker?

Kane
Son
Moura
Bale
Parrott, granted on loan.

Why would we spend what funds we have available on a position we have cover for when we need a proper DM or cover at centre half?

Personally can see the powers that be, holding off this transfer window, monitoring Parrott and seeing how things are come January.

2nd rate club? Poch, Toby, Wanyama, and PEH all beg to differ. I'd hate for facts to get in the way

My hunch is that we have reached some kind of agreement with Real Madrid that they get first option on Kane next year.
His fee would easily claw back the Ings fee and much more besides.
Would also go a long way to explaining the current business being conducted between the two clubs.

Real are saving up their pesetas for Mbappe

If you can't tell if we need one from looking at a list that included a striker that is unavailable...

Moura doesnt score any goals. We dont really know on Bales fitness. Having said that i dont see any point buying an ageing journeyman. They'd barely play even if Kane got injured. Kane wont be here forever and we need to think of that someone a bit younger but with more quality would make most sense.

Kane won't be sold unless he wants to go, and when he decides it's time to go i won't hold any grudges , i think maybe the change of stance from Levy is either a sponsorship deal for the stadium or he is backing Jose hoping that we can get CL next season and he gets the money back that way, i don't think the spending is down to him having already agreed to sell kane next season, but it wouldn't surprise me if we did offer Madrid first dibs when he does decide he wants to leave, but this again is just hearsay as unless Kane decides he wants to leave then it doesn't matter who we have offered him to first?
Or just maybe the plan all along was to loosen the purse strings once the stadium was complete as we spent a fair whack last window as well, oh and when are you shaving your head and getting the new dog?

It wouldn’t be catastrophic because obviously Bales a superb signing, but yes we do still need a striker. Let’s be honest, Bale will be 1st choice playing up there with Son and Kane, so theoretically we still don’t have a back up for Kane. We will have great options and much more depth, but from what I gather from the media, Spurs don’t see Gareth Bale as the “striker” signing. Looks likely we will still get a striker by deadline and to right.
