Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

One of the Mandelas had him on the rack? :sandro:

Head & Shoulders (and now neck) above the opposition...

Is it though? The guys one of the worlds top centre backs...
When you look at what VVD cost, getting Skriniar for under 50 mil would be incredible business imo...

These guys seem to think 40/45m:

This lot say 45m:

As I said in another post, they were alleged to want to swap him for Ndombele whom they rated as 40/45m so shy should we pay any more if it's a cash deal.... Ought to be cheaper than that if anything.

Is he really one of the world best CBs ?

If Kim Min-jae is still a contender to be bought as Spurs CB, the Chinese transfer window closes on 30 September, and given the Chinese club need to buy a replacement, I imagine we will know by middle of next week.

If Spurs want to keep Kim Min-jae as an option whilst also talking to the likes Milan Škriniar, tyhen although TW closes on October 5th, we might also want deal to be done by 30 September.

To paraphrase the Chinese proverb 'these could be interesting times'

As Dele is staying, I'm no longer worried about necessarily signing a new attacking midfielder.
However, it's really important that he regains the form he found early on under Jose's reign. I hope he starts tomorrow, and manages to regain his confidence with a goal.

Your complaints are not warranted this transfer window.

We have spent money and improved on 4 first team positions.
Are you saying that very fair criticism cannot be levied on the club based on this window so far? Sure, we have addressed personnel issues at 4 positions but just as it is too early to make a final judgment on the window it is similarly too early to say 'improved'. And even if we blindly and mindlessly accept it as improvement we still haven't addressed the 2 positions in which we have had the longest need for additions, ST (not trying to hear x,y, or z can play there) and DM (don't tell me PEH is a DM)

This is during a world wide pandemic where everything is still so unstable.
Not stopping anyone else getting their players in. And our chairman is purportedly a financial genius whose acumen and foresight is supposed to shield us from things like this. That is why he's paid the very big chairman bucks.

Do we need a striker? Yes we do but let's actually wait until the window is over.
Would you like that saw before or after you've renovated that house? Would you like that impact driver before or after you fixed that car? Would you like that fork before or after you've finished that meal? Would you like that toilet before or after you've had that shit?

Surely you want all your tools at the earliest conveniece. So, the longer it takes to get them in the less their impact this season and the longer into the season it takes to integrate with their teammates.

All fair criticism.

I think the VVD cost was inflated and it just happened to not matter because they had the Coutinho money and they could afford to pay an extra £15-20m. I also don't think Skriniar is nearly the player VVD was in January 2018. Combine that with the current economic realities of European football and I think anything over £37m is overpaying, but as I said earlier, the financial terms are probably more impactful to the deal than the final transfer fee.

You think it’s fair criticism to say:
“Even if we sign a striker today, I will moan for the rest of the season because we didn’t sign one a bit earlier”

Because I think it sounds like cunt talk

Another Chinese proverb ' if you shit before your ready, you lose friends big time!

I like Skriniar. He has the power and strength of Sanchez but can play those long passes with accuracy like Toby. Think he'd be a brilliant addition. Any more than £40m in the current market is too much though imo.
