If we could have closed out the half without conceding, I'd maybe give us a chance. Considering we have the nerves of porcelain, not so much.
 
I don't get blaming Mourinho for this one. Who do you choose alongside Toby? What other defender do you imagine doesn't have the same kind of fuckup in him?

This was our weakest position coming into the season. Nothing has changed that.

They finally got a few transfers right with Ben Godfrey, James etc and are looking relatively decent. We on the other hand have repeatedly cocked up transfers since Poch's first two seasons. Ndombele, PEH and Regui are our only decent signings in years.

We still miss prime Rose, Walker, Jan, Toby, Eriksen, Dele, and to a lesser extent Trippier. Jose has his faults, but our transfer failings have chipped away at the foundation built in Poch's early years.

Everton have historically been 5-8. They've spent an absolute ton of money to be....5-8.

My point is we didn't spend, had a great season, did spend and we've got this shit. "Spending" is only good if you spend on the right players. We, typically, waste the money we do spend...so complaining about more spending is pointless. We'll just waste that fucking money too.
