I'm torn whether to believe its easier to win EL than to get 4th.

We are 4 points off 4th with a game in hand. And most of the teams we have left to play in the league aren't even good enough for the Europa Conference League.

I can't help but feel the first decent team we come across in the EL would have our pants down.

4 points off 4th would be bridgeable if there weren’t another’s four teams ahead of us.... if we were 5th, I would be positive.

i dont ever want to see winks and sissoko again, no matter who the opponents are. plus 2 CDM against a poor europa side? would rather we actually went for it. we should be looking to hurt teams like this and put a statement out.

yea we have to rest the main boys! lets hope we can tonight and win comfortably while giving minutes to players who need them COYS!

Dreamt we went 1-0 down, but BALE equalised from the penalty spot.... I heard it on the radio (in my dream btw!)
We went on to win 2-1...

(Only drawback is that in my dream, we were playing Everton away, and Gary Lineker scored the winner..... what are the odds??) So, um.... I'll get the pinch of salt shall I....?

Erm need to look at League Table again.
We are 6 pts off 5th, not 4 off 4th
 
I personally think that we have a great chance to win the EL this season...and that's accounting for the fact that we are struggling in the Prem right now!

Why the optimism?

Well, it's a cautious optimism to be honest, but I do think that we can get past tonight's opponents with ease...and then we're just a few games away from being in the final, and I don't see any teams still in the EL that we should be afraid of.

And say what you want about Mourinho, he does have a knack of winning if his team has made it to the final, especially the EL final!

I see us winning tonight and getting a favourable draw in the round of 16...from there on in, it's anyone's trophy as far as I'm concerned!

But that's how he stays employed.... win the games he SHOULD be winning, at crucial times....
Even HE/WE aren't THAT stupid to lose this one!

We'll win, and win well.... he'll say how well we've played, and how serious we are.... and how tough tough tough this game was.... and how we win and lose togezzer...

Then there's West Ham at the weekend!
 
Just hope we can put in a positive performance with a 2 or 3 goal margin to rebuild some of the good atmosphere and confidence around the team, as I would imagine they're feeling as deflated as we are right now.
