Get Conte for fuck sake

If Poch wanted to keep the deadwood

i.e Dier,Sanchez,Winks,Sissoko,Aurier and Lamela

Then I'd not want him as our manager.

Anyone who wants to be our manager needs to agree to sell that deadwood and upgrade the squad.

It worries me that a few of those players were real favourites under Poch well actually everyone but Aurier was Poch's first choice at points and Lamela was loved by the guy.
But maybe time away from the squad or him realising why he was sacked in 19/20 might not want to make him keep those players.
Poch wanted to sell Dier and Winks. Aurier and Lamela are off this summer regardless.

I think it’s vastly overstated how much Poch actually liked or wanted most of the players that need to be shifted. The club didn’t buy a CM between Wanyama in 2016 and Ndombele/Lo Celso in 2019. I doubt it was because Poch didn’t want any.

And without that Conte will be a disaster. He’s left every club because of his perception the club isn’t backing him. He won’t get that type of investment with us. It will be ideal for the vocal ENIC out mob who will be able to use it as a stick to beat levy with but in reality getting him in could lead to disaster. Knowing us, which is more likely, success or it going tits up?
But even if it just last 18 months he would clear out the deadwood and kick the arse of those lazy fuckers that remain

Then maybe Poch but not now

Conte + DoF is better than Poch and no DoF.
A DoF in title that

1. Is just a crony of the manager we're simultaneously hiring and
2. Still has Daniel Levy negotiating the financials of transfers

Is not in any meaningful sense a Director of Football.

Paratici is a Director of Football when a downturn in form means HE gets to sack Conte and choose our new manager.

We all know perfectly well that isn't the case and he's just Conte's recruiter guy.

I think if we are bringing in a guy like Conte it makes sense to bring in Paratici with him rather than say bring in Campos or Rangnick who are likely just going to clash with Conte.

It isn't my ideal set up but with Conte's history and clear idea of what he wants from his players and playing style then letting him be the main guy picking players, with a DOF that is familiar with him and had success with him in the past is fine.

Edit:

Sorry just saw that you still had Levy involved in the process and if that is the case then I agree it is dumb.

If the plan is to have Conte manager, Paratici DOF but Levy really pulling the strings and actually DOF then there is no point. If Paratici is the DOF but it is really Conte more pulling the strings and Paratici working with him then I think that works.

Not going to talk about who becomes our next manager as I thought this would have been sorted by now. That it isn't speaks volumes.

I would however be staggered if Zidane is not at a big club in a few weeks.

Openly stated he wants to carry on coaching and I think he is a touch young to be the French manager, so options?

Woolwich, PSG or even United, if they want to keep Pogba and try and tempt Kane?

Conte will clash with anyone who gets in the way of what he wants. Don't be fooled that by hiring an Italian DoF who he has worked for before will matter. Man is a nutter

If we are bringing in the guy who he has worked with in the past the idea would be that he doesn't get in his way.

We are only hiring Paratici if Conte is coming, we don't have interest in him as a DOF we have an interest in him being Conte's DOF.
