It also makes sense for Conte to set the expectation at "we need to spend money" up front. Mourinho came in and basically said the squad was fine and Levy was sold.

As with everything, it's probably somewhere in the middle, but Conte is going to want 3-4 first team signings this summer on top of not selling Kane.

Paratici when he was only a sports manager worked very well. When he was also appointed CEO, in my opinion he was not able to understand the management aspects. As an observer he had a lot of eye to understand cheap deals: Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal, Tevez etc.

As mentioned in other speeches: if Conte agrees to come, it means that the company has an important budget in its pocket to satisfy his requests. He left Inter when the Chinese told him they wanted to sell some top players
