How about we sign a set-piece taker who's also good in open-play? I like JWP but not enough to watch him play in our midfield every week.

i would sell him back to Lyon and the French league where he belongs for 20 million. Sad pathetic excuse of a professional.

Who in France (apart from PSG) can afford £200kpw?

[EDIT: What's up Nawh Nawh clown/troll..... You stuggling to read again? ]

Yeah JWP would be a solid signing for me but God knows how much they would want for him , personally makes more sense for Villa to buy him tbh.

We bought him TWO summers ago.

Leeds (his former club and manager!) seemed perfect from our end..... Should have done the same with Sessengon when we bought him too!

.....What have we done wrong?
Was his illness not while he was still with Leeds, Spring 2019? My point being that I don’t think his lack of development at this point can be put down to an illness that long ago.

As for what we’ve done wrong, I couldn’t possibly answer as I obviously have no insight into how we approach each kids development, but I feel like from where he was in his break out season to where he is now, he could’ve been a fair bit further along. Maybe I overate what I saw of him initially and have unrealistic expectations, and obviously progression isn’t linear, but I think talent wise there’s something special in there.

Seems from Fabrizio Romano that we want a CDM now

Why? We have Skipp and Hojbjerg

Maybe if we sell both Winks and Sissoko but otherwise is that really a priority?
Lots of links to Zakaria , Some sporting guy and now Warde-Prowse.

I honestly wouldn't want Warde-Prowse because apart from his free kicks he's just one of those players that run around a lot and are fit but they don't bridge the gap to Man City

With Skipp and Hojbjerg if they both play we have nothing behind them. If only Hojbjerg plays we saw last year and at the Euros he likely is better suited to play further up the pitch and/or with more freedom to move around.

I think a CDM is a big need to allow us more flexibility and ball movement through MF.

JWP is not close to what we need because he is poor outside of set pieces.

Indeed... Even with the "what about the Walker money?" diversionary tactics.....

I (presumably you) and any other right-minded FOOTBALL fan; doesn't want that money and influence in the game.

It's a joke... Some clown here yesterday literally complained that we didn't back Poch "like PSG are".
The immense amounts of money coming in basically negate the competition and soon no one will want to watch it

Of course it can.... It provides a massive set back that has to be overcome over time.... You don't just pick up where you left off..... It's lost time that you don't get back..... It's not inconceivable that he returned a worse player.

Then you needn't claim we are at fault.

as I obviously have no insight into how we approach each kids development,

It's not an exact science.... That Leeds loan made perfect sense.

I didn't pan out... Them's the breaks. No point in pointing the finger if (as you concede) you don't have the necessary insight.

I feel like I’ve distracted enough from this thread with talk that has nothing to do with transfers, but I’m sorry that I’ve made what you feel is a grossly callous comment. I’m generally a career fence sitter who leans on the side of defending most of the clubs actions, so I’ll try to be more vanilla with future posts :dierpochhug:
