I reckon that the story is true but the Martinez part is just opinion by the journalist. For what it's worth, I think a sudden move for Vlahovic has more to do with Kane than it has to do with Lautaro.

Side note: 'Trix' over on SpursCommunity nailing his colours to the mast in the last hour or so that Kane will be sold in the next day or two.
Ties in conveniently with Romano's bit about a new 150m euro offer coming soon from City.

I reckon we would accept that and bring in Vlahovic, Martinez and Pau Torres. I'd be happy with that.

Centre back would be sorted with two of the most promising young defenders around and we get two top quality young forwards.

Add Tomiyasu and a central midfield upgrade on Winkssoko and we are in business.

Are you just trying to post the link in the body of the post? If so it won't work. You have to click on the photo icon (to the left of the smilie face when you're making a post) and post the link in there.

I am not a computer savvy guy....but let me try to explain: I mark the photo and click "copy image" and then click "paste".... It normally works but not on this site (not for me at least)

I don't think Lautaro Martinez will be sold. Inter have already made £170m selling Hakimi and Lukaku, they aren't in desperate need of cash anymore.

I think likely transfers at this point:
Vlahovic in for Kane
Torres (maybe Lacroix but links have gone quiet) for Sanchez
Tomiyasu for Aurier

Think we'll get another attacking player too; either Damsgaard, Madueke, or a Simy.

There were ambitious chairmen with money to spend back then as well. When the PL started, it was Jack Walker and Blackburn Rovers and a few years on from that it was Newcastle with Sir John Hall, Freddy Shepherd and a free spending Kevin Keegan.

Both of those teams were recent promotions to the top flight and were there through money rather than pedigree. They entertained a lot of people, though.
It was a very structurally similar transaction to the ESL. Creating a TV package offering more of what advertisers want and thus much more valuable, and cutting the great majority of the clubs out of the take.

The difference is that it didn’t alter the competitive structure of the game. It was a purely financial arrangement.

But, as we’ve seen, over time and with sufficient change, the money BECOMES the competitive structure of the game.

100% something has happened and accelerated. I’m not talking about that bullshit merchant Trix but the news coming out of Italy is we are talking to sign Vlahovic. Direct replacement for Harry Kane 100%. Kane will be off and he will come in, it’s pretty obvious now
Quite. I think all the Martinez stuff is an aside to that Kane/Vlahovic turnover - Atletico probably aren't even as interested as the media says and it's games by Fiorentina.

Maybe the Kane deal will mean we're happier to pay a little more for Martinez, but it seems clear that it was/is something we wanted to do regardless and the only way I see us as having given up is if we suddenly move on to another wide forward in the press.

agree with his but aside from Vlahovic, reckon we may have a go for Edouard at Celtic, available for 15-20M....would be a smart signing imo...

I don't see any way we only get Vlahovic as a true striker replacement.

It would mean we have one 21 year old proper senior striker in the squad after losing the best striker in the world. It's not enough.

With the Kane windfall we have enough for Vlahovic plus one more. I think Inter are posturing and we can still get Martinez but if not we will target someone else.

Damsgaard/Madueke would be in addition to this.

Yeah, perhaps someone a bit older and cheaper and back up?
Weghorst or Simy maybe?

Also I think Madueke can play CF, although primarily a RW.

needs to be decent, calvert lewin or someone of that caliber

dcl and vlahovic would be a good pairing, why not raid everton for their talisman

or isak for 70 is better value too.

my ideal 2 would be isak and vlahovic which we can afford if kane is sold for 140

I thought he would stay but if City will cough up 150m euros plus add ons that probably brings it closer to 150m pounds you have to take it.

I imagine Kane has sat down with Nuno this week and made it clear he's not interested in staying.

This will be a crazy few weeks. Over to you Fabio.

Just need to institute a hard cap. It will benefit the owners. I’m sure Barca would love to have not given Messi 1m a weeknight hindsight … So I dont get why the owners wouldn’t be for it. The players will be mad as hell, but what can they do? Is there a players union in UEFA?

A bigger issue than players union could be EU law. I'm no expert on it, not even close, but I'd be hugely surprised if a salary wasn't struck down in some EU court.
