Duncan Castles seems to conjure stories from the ether at times.. but if Bernardo Silva could be convinced of a move ((I doubt it)) then we should definitely look into it. Brilliant player, we'd need to be very lucky in the market to find somebody of his quality.

I do wonder where we're headed on the CB/RB front. I prefer Tomiyasu to Milenkovic, but they both present good value to be fair. Both preferable to Conor Coady / Vestergaard. Milenkovic is a hard one to pin down because he really looks excellent when you watch a Fiorentina game from before last season, and then 20/21 he's just not quite the same guy.

ENIC have had twenty years of transfer windows , 19 if you don’t count the two windows where we chose to act like we had a transfer ban.

History tells us how this plays out

Wait until the window is closed before moaning

Window closes with the usual disappointing end

We then get told , support the team we are not real fans, give the new players time , the new manager time, or quite often the new manager and new players time

Well sorry but when they regularly deliver good windows and good decisions I will be patient. They have not earned my trust
Bad window or good window was not my point. I was just responding to the usual conspiracy theorists who say that Levy is just pretending to go after certain players, in order to pull the wool over our eyes. Whether the the window is good or bad is irrespective of that.

We don’t need a centre back, surely we have other priorities. There’s a chance that Dier and Sanchez look better next to a decent centre back, ditto Rodon (plus Tangana)

that’s five incl Romero, six with Davies (in a back 3)

surely right back is a key position, little to know chance of Aurier or Doc funding form or consistency. Tangana? Poss

You'd be wrong.

Before RA arrived, Chelsea were facing insolvency. If reports are to be believed, they were hours away from it.

They have never been in Liverpool's league and, take the regular £200M+ cash injections from their owner, they'd never be able to compete for the highest honours. No honours, massively depleted fanbase. They were on a par with West Ham, insofar as their following was concerned, pre Abramovic and the CL appearances/wins his cash afforded them.

Liverpool have become far more frugal of late, since their current owners took over really. They've spent what they've earned, with the Coutinho money spent very wisely and giving them just what they needed to win them the PL and CL. Before that, they were pretty poorly run, but they have a revenue stream afforded to them by a very large and, frankly, fanatical fanbase that isn't limited to just Liverpool. It's like putting on that Red shirt turns you into a raving lunatic!

But Chelsea would dance around the mid table without RA or a similar Billionaire, IMO that is, they simply do not have that hardcore fanbase. Once they start disappearing from CL, the gloryhunters they're inundated with will jump ship, the sponsors will do the same and their revenue drops even further.

Wouldn't all that be wonderful hey?

Ffs that was 2003!!

They're a much, much, much bigger money making machine now. In much the same way Spurs are.
Abramovic pumped loads of his money in but they're now making legitimate income. That doesn't suddenly stop when leaves.
Not that he's going to so it's best to get over it.

This jealousy that some Spurs fans have over Chelsea over taking us is fucking embarrassing.

I wish I had your confidence in the CB's. Still think they'll manage to bring in Tomiyasu for RB.

The list of players we've tried and failed to land over the years is endless.
Those we just couldn't squeeze over the line.

Sometimes, when something happens with alarming regularity over, like , 2 decades, maybe the real conspiracy theory is that it's all just coincidence or somehow Spursy and unique to us.

Talking of which, do you think Levy's interest in appointing Antonio Conte and tempting Poch away from PSG was also genuine?

What about his inspirational speech about returning to our core DNA and attacking football. Genuine?

How about pulling the wool over our eyes, to use your own phrase, regarding the ESL. Another cospiracy theory i suppose?...

Surely you can understand why so many of us are sceptical
